TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. On September 22, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local store where a woman attempted to purchase a flat screen TV with 6 – $100 counterfeit bills. When she realized the employee knew the money was counterfeit, she fled the store.

The employees gave a description to deputies of the woman and the car in which she was last seen leaving the parking lot. With that information, deputies initiated a traffic stop on Karen J. Collins, 52, 1015 N. Simmons Street, Lake Charles. Collins was transported back to the store where she was identified by the store employees.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On July 16 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding several pieces of jewelry, valued at over $3,500, stolen from a safe inside the home of a 79 year old woman. During the investigation, detectives learned between June 2013—July 16, 2014, Michelle A. Fontenot, 42, 415 S. Storer Avenue, Iowa, was hired to provide sitting services for the elderly victim. When questioned by detectives, Fontenot confirmed she knew the combination to the safe and stole the jewelry while sitting with the elderly woman at her home.

CPSO arrests Woman for knowingly allowing a Sex Offender to violate his Registration Requirements

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 30, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Ashley N. Hess, 31, 3118 Burton Street, Lake Charles, after an investigation revealed she knowingly allowed convicted sex offender, Raymond “Daniel” Lowery, 26, Sulphur, to repeatedly violate his sex offender registration requirements.

On numerous occasions, Hess allowed Lowery to be at her home while her four children, all under the age of 12, were present, and her home is within 1,000 feet of a daycare, even though she was well aware that both were violations of Lowery’s sex offender registration requirements.

Detectives also learned through this investigation that in 2013, Hess intentionally withheld and misled information to the staff of a local recreation facility regarding Lowery being a registered sex offender, allowing him to coach and attend numerous t-ball games of her juvenile son, which is also a violation of his registration.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On March 21, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a Lake Charles apartment complex in regards to a report of a 2 year old boy who was found wandering around the complex alone.

Upon arrival, deputies observed the victim who was barefoot, dirty, and wearing a diaper that appeared to have not been changed for some time. The victim, who appeared to be in poor health and also had a severe rash with several open sores, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 24, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched after receiving a complaint regarding Jennifer L. Eastwood, 28, 335 Highway 171, #136, Lake Charles, physically abusing a 10 month old female family member.

Upon arrival, deputies learned Eastwood struck the victim with her hand, causing numerous whelps to her leg.

Eastwood was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with cruelty to a juvenile.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Monday, February 24, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the Five-Star convenience store, 2577 Highway 171 North, Moss Bluff, in reference to an armed robbery.

Upon arrival deputies spoke with the store clerk who advised a woman entered the store brandishing a handgun, demanded the clerk’s cell phone, and forced her into the store restroom. Once the clerk was inside the restroom, the suspect pushed a cabinet down in front of the restroom door in an attempt to lock the clerk inside.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 19, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives received a complaint from a local casino regarding a housekeeping employee stealing from guests’ hotel rooms.

The investigation revealed between February 14 – 18, Mary S. Pierre, 44, 3619 Texas Street, Apt. # G169, Lake Charles, stole various items including cash, jewelry and electronic items, from guests while cleaning their hotel rooms.

During a search of her residence, detectives recovered an electronic tablet and perfume reported stolen and also recovered several other electronic items which are suspected to be stolen.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 9, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local business regarding a former employee stealing from the company.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the owners of the business who advised after researching discrepancies in the company’s bank account, it was discovered since March 2011, Elizabeth “Missy” Istre, 48, 2658 Con Dios Lane, Sulphur, who worked as a bookkeeper for the company, wrote herself over $250,000 worth of company checks which she deposited into her personal bank account and then would post the amounts of those checks under different vendors’ names on the company’s books.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 22, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a Lake Charles home after receiving a complaint regarding Jennifer G. Jackson, 34, 3629 W. Roosevelt Street, Lake Charles, physically abusing a 17 year old family member.

Upon arrival, deputies observed numerous bruises and marks on the victim. The investigation revealed on January 21, Jackson struck the victim several times on her legs with a belt and also struck the victim numerous times with a closed fist and open hand.
