TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 12, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in reference to a shooting. When deputies arrived on the scene on W. Verdine St. in Sulphur, the shooting victim was in the process of being transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On April 14, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives received a complaint regarding a 6 year old boy with what appeared to be a human bite mark on his cheek.

During the investigation, detectives discovered Geneva M. Young, 28, 810 Garden Drive, Westlake, a family member of the victim, bit the victim to discipline him and instructed him, if asked, to say his dog bit him.

When questioned by detectives, Young confirmed the allegations.

CPSO arrests man for 2nd Degree Battery

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On April 15 at approximately 5:30 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a Westlake home in reference to a battery.

During further investigation, deputies discovered during a verbal altercation between Roy W. Penny, 73, 235 Maddox Drive, Westlake, and the victim, Penny threw bleach on the victim, causing lesions and burns to the victim’s eyes. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she received treatment for her injuries.

Penny was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correction Center and charged with 2nd degree battery.

CPSO arrests man for 3rd Offense Failure to Register

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On March 20, convicted sex offender Lonnie C. Franklin, 45, 1721 St. John Bosco Road, Westlake, was arrested after an investigation revealed he failed to comply with his in-person registration within three days of being released from a correctional facility, as required by law for all sex offenders.

Franklin was previously arrested by CPSO on July 14, 2013, after an investigation revealed he had moved without notifying the proper authorities within three (3) days. He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2nd offense failure to register as a sex offender. After being released on February 19, 2014, Franklin failed to comply with his in-person registration within three days of being released from a correctional facility, as required by all registered sex offenders.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Compliance and Awareness Program Unit (CAP) arrested convicted sex offenders Dallas E. Clement, 52, 2512 Davis Road, Westlake, and Randal J. Rougeau, 43, 419 S. Storer Street, Apt. B, Iowa, after an investigation revealed both failed to comply with their in-person registration as required by law for all registered sex offenders.

Clement, who was convicted of aggravated incest in October 2007 and also convicted of indecent behavior with a juvenile in April 2005, both in Calcasieu Parish, was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on March 12 and was charged with failure to register as a sex offender and released on a $7,500 bond set by Judge Kent Savoie.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 23, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Kody L. Ardoin, 18, 3401 Davis Road, Westlake, after an investigation revealed he gave synthetic marijuana to a 15 year old family member. Detectives also discovered Ardoin has physically abused the 15 year old family member, as well as a 13 year old family member.

When questioned by detectives, Ardoin confirmed he gave the 15 year old family member synthetic marijuana and confirmed he has physically abused the victim in the past.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 9, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a Moss Bluff business in reference to a burglary.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the owner of the business who advised between January 7th–9th, his business was burglarized and several items were stolen including copper tubing, condenser coils, an ice maker, a tool box, and a glass two door cooler, worth over $11,000.
During further investigation, deputies reviewed surveillance video from the business which captured a man, later identified as John Castille, Jr., 54, 321 Dalton Road, Westlake, loading the stolen items into a truck and leaving the business.

Castille was arrested on January 14 and charged with simple burglary; and theft over $1,500.

UPDATE: CPSO found man in Connection with Stabbing

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — UPDATE: [3:29pm]: Subject has been found! — On December 16, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local hospital regarding a stabbing.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered the victim had been stabbed multiple times following an altercation with Yani H. Vincent, 20, Westlake. The victim was treated at a local hospital and released.

Deputies conducted an extensive search of the area, but were unable to locate Vincent.
