TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On September 22 at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was called to a local store where it was learned Devyn B. Stark, 21, 5809 Dundee Street and Zachery C. Dimas, 21, 3415 Hwy 14, both of Lake Charles, attempted to purchase a tent with 6 – $20 counterfeit bills. Both Stark and Dimas were kept at the store until deputies arrived.

An additional $120 in $20 counterfeit bills was found on them.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On July 5, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched regarding a complaint of a 16 month old boy who returned home with numerous bruises on his legs and buttocks after visiting family member Maegan A. Guillory, 19, 2855 Maurine Street, Sulphur. When questioned by detectives on July 8, Guillory confirmed she struck the victim with her hand, causing numerous bruises to the child’s leg and buttocks.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Saturday, March 8, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Four Corners convenience store, 2602 Highway 14 East, Lake Charles, in reference to an armed robbery.

Upon arrival deputies spoke with the store clerk who advised while in the parking lot after closing the store, he was approached by two men, one of which was armed with a handgun, who demanded money.

After stealing an undisclosed amount of money from the clerk, the two men forced the clerk back into the store where they stole several cartons of cigarettes. The two men then forced the store clerk into the trunk of his own car and locked him inside before fleeing on foot. The clerk, who had his car keys in his pocket, was able to open the trunk and free himself.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 10, at approximately 11:30 p.m., a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to conduct a stop on a truck near the intersection of W. Burton and Kim Street for a traffic violation. When the deputy activated his unit’s lights and sirens signaling for the driver of the truck to stop, the driver did not comply and continued to flee from him at a high rate of speed.

Two explosions at the finish line of the Boston Marathon have resulted in injuries.

Bloody spectators were being carried Monday to the medical tent that had been set up to care for fatigued runners. Police wove through competitors as they ran back toward the course.

“There are a lot of people down,” said one man, whose bib No. 17528 identified him as Frank Deruyter of North Carolina. He was not injured, but marathon workers were carrying one woman, who did not appear to be a runner, to the medical area as blood gushed from her leg. A Boston police officer was wheeled from the course with a leg injury that was bleeding.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 12, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the area of Prater Street and Old Spanish Trail in Sulphur in reference to a report of a stolen vehicle.

Upon arrival, deputies observed a car matching the description of the stolen vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. When deputies activated their unit’s lights and sirens signaling for the driver to stop, the driver, later identified as Lonnie L. Crochet, 40, 2418 Gaylynn Street, Sulphur, did not comply and continued to flee from deputies.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 27, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Snapper Lane in Lake Charles after receiving a report of a 3 year old and a 4 year old wearing diapers walking down the street alone.

The investigation revealed while the two children were walking down the street by themselves, family members Brent J. Nelson, 30, and Carrie D. Hoffpauir, 25, both of 7621 Snapper Lane, Lake Charles, were sleeping and were still asleep when deputies arrived at the home.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On December 6, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives were dispatched to a home in Lake Charles regarding a report of a theft. When detectives spoke with the victim, she advised two rings, valued at over $4,000, were missing from her home. The victim told detectives that Keena S. Cooper, 49, 2517 Anderson Street, Westlake, was recently hired to clean her home.

When questioned by detectives, Cooper confirmed she stole the jewelry while cleaning the victim’s home and then sold them to a local pawn shop for cash.

Cooper was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with theft over $1,500.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On November 28, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were patrolling the area of N. Clairborne Street in Sulphur when they observed two people, later identified as Jason P. Moore, 28, 916 S. Irwin Street, and Chasity R. Marshall, 24, 902 W. Burton Street, both of Sulphur, walking on the street and carrying what appeared to be duffle bags.
