TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On December 30, 2014 at approximately 4:00 p.m., a female was walking in the parking lot at Kroger’s (139 W McNeese Street) when a female suspect snatched her purse and fled. Two witnesses chased and apprehended the suspect. A male accomplice then approached the witnesses and produced a firearm. The female suspect was released and both suspects fled in a vehicle. Subsequent investigation revealed that the suspects were Stacy Dawn Browning and Evan Kade Hermann.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On November 3, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a home in DeQuincy in reference to a theft of a cell phone. The victim told deputies he was contacted by Benjamin Lindemann, 27, 6659 McCown Road, Iowa, in reference to a vehicle the victim had for sale. The victim said on November 2, he picked Lindemann up so he could test drive the vehicle.

After the test drive, Lindemann told the victim he was not interested in the vehicle and asked to be dropped off at a location in Moss Bluff which was a different location from where he was picked up.After the victim dropped off Lindemann he realized his cell phone was missing.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — During the months of September, October and November the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives were contacted by seven people who were victims of identity theft.

The investigation revealed Chris W. Breaux, 33, 5831 South 40 Court, Iowa, went online and stole the identity of these seven people to open up credit card accounts, apply for loans, and purchase items.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On October 31, while conducting an investigating, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives received information that Charlie C. Laing, 32, 1623 Pinewood Road #2, Lake Charles, had sold a pink colored handgun to a local resident. Laing had bragged to others that he had stolen the gun from his ex-girlfriend while he helped her move out of town and she was not aware the gun was missing.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On October 8 Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Kentaijhia T. Richmond, 18, 2140 10th Street, Lake Charles, for taking merchandise valued at $834.67 from a local store. The investigation revealed Richmond, along with another woman, were captured on surveillance video placing items inside a purse and a shopping cart and left the store without paying for them. When the two were confronted by store security they fled, but it was discovered Richmond left behind her wallet that contained her driver’s license.

Richmond later called and then arrived at the Sheriff’s Office in an attempt to recover her wallet. She was then interviewed by detectives where she confirmed she had participated in the theft. At first Richmond refused to identify the other woman with her in the store but after more questioning by detectives, she provided the correct identity of her.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On September 17 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a theft of two torque wrenches from a local business. The owner of the business informed the deputies when he noticed the wrenches were missing he went around to some local pawn shops to see if they had been pawned.

An employee at one of the pawn shops gave a description of an employee of the business owner, John G Willis, 37, 805 Topsy Rd., Lot 115, Lake Charles, as trying to sell the wrenches to him.

CPSO arrests man for Theft of $75,000 of Metal

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — August 25, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Sulphur in reference to a theft. The victim, who had a large amount of metal stored on a vacant lot he owned, told deputies someone had been stealing the metal. While deputies were investigating they found some of the metal and a rented excavator that was left in the woods behind the victim’s vacant lot.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On July 12, 2014, an unknown male used a stolen credit card to make unauthorized purchases at several stores in the Lake Charles area.

The suspect was captured on video surveillance while using the stolen card.

The Lake Charles Police Detective Division is asking for help in identifying the suspect seen in this image that was taken from one of the store surveillance videos. The suspect is a black male wearing a white t-shirt and camouflage pants.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On July 16 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding several pieces of jewelry, valued at over $3,500, stolen from a safe inside the home of a 79 year old woman. During the investigation, detectives learned between June 2013—July 16, 2014, Michelle A. Fontenot, 42, 415 S. Storer Avenue, Iowa, was hired to provide sitting services for the elderly victim. When questioned by detectives, Fontenot confirmed she knew the combination to the safe and stole the jewelry while sitting with the elderly woman at her home.
