TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Sunday February 1, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a black male robbed the Vegas Magic Casino located at 520 Hwy 397 in Lake Charles. He entered the casino, possibly armed with an unknown weapon, and demanded money from the clerk. The robber fled north on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On July 14 at approximately 3:45 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched in reference to a burglary alarm that had been triggered on the ATM at Jeff Davis Bank located at 4989 E. McNeese Street in Lake Charles.

Upon arrival, deputies learned an unknown man stole a forklift from a nearby construction site then drove the forklift to the bank, and in an attempt to open the bank ATM, rammed the ATM numerous times, moving it from its foundation and destroying it in the process. The suspect was unable gain access and no cash was stolen.

The Pentagon says a Libyan militant accused in a deadly attack on Americans in Benghazi, Libya, is in U.S. custody.

The capture of Ahmed Abu Khattala marks the first time the U.S has apprehended one of the accused perpetrators in the 2012 attack. Khattala is a senior leader of the Benghazi branch of the terrorist group Ansar alt-Sharia.

The suspect accused of opening fire inside the Los Angeles airport was determined to lash out at the Transportation Security Administration, saying in a note that he wanted to kill at least one TSA officer and didn’t care which one, authorities said Saturday.

It’s not clear why Paul Ciancia targeted the agency, but the note found in his duffel bag suggested the 23-year-old unemployed motorcycle mechanic was willing to kill almost any officer he could confront with his AR-15 semi-automatic rifle.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 8, 2013 at approximately 12:16 a.m., Lake Charles Police Corporal Keith Bertrand and Corporal Brenda Desormeaux were dispatched to 4447 Lake St (Shop Rite) for a hold up alarm.

Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the store clerk who stated a black male suspect entered the east side door displaying a black revolver while ordering him to open the register. The black male suspect removed money from the register and took a carton of Kool cigarettes before fleeing the store. The suspect was described as a black male wearing a blue/white/red hooded type long sleeved shirt, long light blue jean shorts, and white tennis shoes. He was wearing black gloves and brandishing a black long barreled revolver in his right hand.

A court official says the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings is facing federal charges and has made an initial court appearance in his hospital room.

The charges against 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (joh-KHAR’ tsahr-NEYE’-ehv) remain sealed. He is listed in serious but stable condition.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On March 19, 2013 at 8:54 p.m., the Lake Charles Police Department responded to the 1600 block of 3rd Street in reference to a sexual assault. Upon arrival, officers learned that a female victim was sexually assaulted by Desmond Lamont Lafleur, 19-year old black male of Lake Charles (2001 Susan Street).

During the investigation, police identified Mr. Lafleur as the suspect involved in the incident. An arrest warrant was obtained charging the suspect with Forcible Rape.

The suspect in the Connecticut school shootings is Adam Lanza, 20, the son of a teacher at the school where the shootings occurred, a law enforcement official said Friday. A second law enforcement official says the boy’s mother, Nancy Lanza, is presumed dead.

Adam Lanza’s older brother, Ryan, 24, of Hoboken, N.J., is being questioned by police, said the first official. Earlier, a law enforcement official mistakenly transposed the brothers’ first names.
