CPSO arrests two for Burglary & Theft

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On May 12, at approximately 3:40 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress at a home on Gant Road in Sulphur. While en route, deputies were advised by a witness that she observed a male, later identified as Joshua Langford, 23, 1207 Ravia Rd. #81, Sulphur, leaving the residence with a window unit. The witness was able to give deputies a description and license plate number of the vehicle seen leaving the scene.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On August 8, at 11:34 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop in Sulphur for a traffic violation.  The driver, Brian K. Doucet, 40, 1237 Susan Street, Sulphur, performed poorly on the field sobriety test.

He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with DWI 3rd; and a couple of traffic violations.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — At approximately 9:00 p.m. this evening a deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation at the corner of Evans and Carr St. in Lake Charles. The driver of the vehicle, Evelyn M. Dargin, 33, stopped and got out of the vehicle but as the deputy was approaching, she fled in her vehicle.

CPSO investigating Homicide in Sulphur

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — Shortly before 7:00 a.m. today, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a welfare concern at 1026 Koonce Rd in Sulphur. A family member called to say she had not seen or spoken to her relative, Pamela Parker, in a couple of days.

When deputies arrived and entered the home, they found Parker, 66, deceased in her home. Time of death is undetermined at this time; however her death has been ruled a homicide.

CPSO arrests woman for filing a False Police Report

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 10, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from Stephanie N. McGehee, 19, 2609 Melba Street, Sulphur, regarding a woman physically abusing a 7 year old family member. McGehee advised deputies she observed the woman strike the child on her buttocks and face, causing numerous bruises and marks, and also accused the woman of throwing the child up against the wall.

When questioned by detectives, McGehee confirmed the allegations she made were not true and the bruises and marks on the child were actually obtained during horseplay with another child after McGehee fell asleep while she was supposed to be babysitting the children. McGehee confirmed she filed a false police report because she did not want to be accused of hurting or causing the bruises to the 7 year old child.

CPSO looking for man in connection with Burglary & Theft of vehicle in Vinton

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 28, at approximately 7:15 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched in reference to a vehicle burglary that occurred at a home on Foster Brothers Road in Vinton.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who advised during the night, two credit cards were stolen from inside her SUV that was parked at the home.

During the investigation, deputies received video surveillance footage which captured a man using the victim’s stolen credit cards to make unauthorized purchases at several Vinton and Sulphur businesses.

Ellis, 22, 5739 Lisa Lane, Vinton, and Bradley S. Courmier, 22, 661 Mustang Street, Sulphur, charging over $2,000 on the business credit account at several Sulphur stores to purchase power tools for personal use without the permission of the business.

CPSO arrests woman for Theft at Stine Lumber in Sulphur

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On May 8, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Kellie R. Comeaux, 45, 6675 Highway 90 East, Lot # 9, Lake Charles, in connection with the theft of a weed trimmer and a chainsaw, valued at over $750, from Stine Lumber in Sulphur. Her arrest was due to several tips called into the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office from people who recognized Comeaux from store surveillance video.

The surveillance video was featured in the local media and on social media sites requesting assistance in identifying the man and woman seen in the video.

When questioned by detectives, Comeaux confirmed she stole the power tools from Stine Lumber in Sulphur.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On April 29, at approximately 7:15 p.m.., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Stine Lumber, 2950 S. Ruth Street, Sulphur, regarding a report of a theft.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a white man and a white woman, entered the store, grabbed a weed trimmer and a chainsaw, valued at over $750, and fled the store in a red or maroon Toyota SUV.
