The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested Warren A. LeBlanc, 41, 7750 Mississippi Ave., Hayes, after an investigation revealed he told a friend Thursday evening he was going to go to Bell City School and shoot up the school Friday morning. She alerted school officials this morning of LeBlanc’s threat. The school was immediately placed on lock down for precautionary measures.
Deputies were able to locate LeBlanc in Thomas P. Crochet’s car on Highway 90 in Iowa. Neither LeBlanc nor Crochet claimed ownership of the three firearms found in the car but because LeBlanc is a convicted felon he cannot be in the presence of firearms. Detectives learned Crochet, 47, 7090 Mississippi Ave., Hayes, had an outstanding contempt of court warrant for DWI and other traffic offenses so he was arrested as well.
