TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Friday, February 20, 2015 at approximately 12:00 p.m., officers with the Lake Charles Police Department were dispatched to 3443 Nelson Road (Game Stop) in Lake Charles, LA, in reference to a robbery. Officers learned that two suspects entered the store and requested to see a game console. While the store attendant showed the system to the two suspects, one of the suspects snatched it from the attendant. The two suspects ran out of the store with the system.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Sunday February 1, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a black male robbed the Vegas Magic Casino located at 520 Hwy 397 in Lake Charles. He entered the casino, possibly armed with an unknown weapon, and demanded money from the clerk. The robber fled north on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

On Thursday, December 18, 2014 at approximately 1:36 AM, the TOUCHDOWN CONVENIENCE STORE, 3216 Gerstner Memorial Drive in Lake Charles, LA, was robbed by a black male.

On Thursday, December 18, 2014 at approximately 8:45 PM, the TOBACCO PLUS, 2626 Gerstner Memorial Drive in Lake Charles, LA, was robbed by a black male.

LCPD: Convenience Store Robbery Arrest

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 22, 2014 at 3:21 a.m., officers with the Lake Charles Police Department responded to a local convenience store in reference to a robbery. The investigation revealed that the suspect attacked the store clerk and forcibly took two cartons of cigarettes that she was holding in her hands.

The incident was captured on the store’s video surveillance system. On June 25, 2014, the subject was positively identified as 46 year old Lloyd Anthony Higginbotham of 1115 North Cherry Street in Lake Charles.

Detective Dustin Gaudet obtained an arrest warrant on Higginbotham for Simple Robbery.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 2, at approximately 12:40 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local casino regarding a report of a robbery.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who advised while in the restroom of the casino, a man approached him, punched the victim in the face and forcefully removed the victim’s gold necklace, worth over $850, off of his neck before fleeing.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On November 15, at approximately 12:30 p.m., an off-duty Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy observed a man, later identified as Kevin D. Trahan, 53, Sulphur, striking a female driver of a truck that was parked at the Lake Charles Civic Center.

During the investigation, deputies discovered while the victim sat in her truck with the driver’s side window down, Trahan forced his way into the truck window, grabbed the victim by the hair and demanded she give him her purse. Trahan continued to force his way into the truck’s window and began choking the victim while attempting to grab her purse.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Thursday, November 14, 2014 at approximately 6:00 pm, officers of the Lake Charles Police Department responded to a call of an Armed Robbery at “Nero’s Barber Shop” located at 2509 Poe Street.

Upon the officers arrival, they were advised that two black males had entered the barber shop and pointing hand guns at the three persons inside the business. The suspects then ordered all three victims to empty their pockets. After obtaining an undetermined amount of cash the suspect’s fled the building. As they did so they fired several rounds into the barber shop. No one was struck and no injuries were reported.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On May 12, 2013 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Corporal S. Brister and Officer S. Sizemore with the Lake Charles Police Department were dispatched to 400 N Lakeshore Drive (Veterans Memorial Park) in reference to a robbery.

Upon their arrival, officers learned from the victim that an argument ensued with the suspect, later identified as Lawrence Brown Sr. During the argument, Brown took the victim’s cell phone, car keys, and then committed battery upon her.  Brown took $600 from the victim’s purse then threw the victim’s cell phone and car keys into the lake. Brown fled on foot but was apprehended shortly thereafter by police and arrested for Simple Robbery.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On May 6, 2013 at 9:05 p.m., Corporal J. Hurd and Officer D. Wagoner were dispatched to 947 3rd Avenue (Family Dollar) in reference to a robbery. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with employees who advised that they were locking the front door of the store when a black male rapidly approached them from the northeast side of the building. The employee entered the store and closed the door at which time the black male brandished a black handgun in his right hand. The suspect was wearing an orange jumpsuit with a black ski mask and black gloves. The suspect was unable to enter the store due to the door being locked. The employee observed two more black male suspects traveling toward the front door of the store from the northeast corner of the building. The second suspect, carrying an unknown black handgun, was wearing a white long sleeve t-shirt with black stripes, camouflage shorts and a red bandana over his face and head. The third suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black shoes. All three suspects fled west across the parking lot on foot.

Detectives H. Sanders and K. Farquhar were called to the scene to handle the follow-up investigation.
