Local Police Departments take precautions following Deadly Shooting Of Cops In Brooklyn



New Jersey’s state police union has issued an email alert to the group’s 33,000 members warning them to take extra caution after two NYPD officers were murdered.

New Jersey State PBA Executive Vice President Marc Kovar said in the email Sunday morning that all members and officers should take extra caution and change up routines in the coming weeks.

NYPD Cops furious with Bill de Blasio turn their backs on the Mayor as he enters Hospital where Officers died



Believing City Hall has betrayed them, cops demonstrated their anger Saturday by turning their backs on Mayor de Blasio as he entered a Brooklyn hospital to pay his respects to two murdered officers.

A senior New York Police Department official says law enforcement has interviewed at least 13 people since 2005 with ties to Iran’s government who were seen taking pictures of New York City landmarks. Police consider the activity to be pre-operational surveillance.

Mitchell Silber, the NYPD’s director of intelligence analysis, told Congress that New York’s international significance as a terror target and its large Jewish population make the city a likely place for Iran or its proxy terrorist group, Hezbollah, to strike.  View full article »


URGENT: Police arrested a suspect Tuesday in connection with the firebombing of an Islamic cultural center and three other New York City sites.

A law enforcement source told Fox affiliate WNYW-TV that the suspect confessed under questioning.

The man was tracked through a car with Virginia license plates that was believed to be at the scene of at least two of the attacks Sunday evening on a convenience store, two homes and the cultural center, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said. View full article »

The New York Police Department is warning local banks to bolster mailroom security after a letter bomb was addressed to the CEO of Deutsche Bank in Germany.

All New York-area banks were advised to take extra precautions on Wednesday after the device was found in the mailroom of Deutsche Bank’s headquarters in Frankfurt. No one was injured. View full article »

Having marshaled a pittance of the planned-for protesters for Thursday’s march, “Occupy Wall Streeters” retreated with the passing of noon to familiar ground–their old haunt at Zuccotti Park–to regroup and plan their next move on the proverbial 1 percent.

There, a couple hundred protesters, their ranks depleted with the passing hours, congregated under the wary and watchful eyes of waiting NYPD officers. Above them, gray clouds gathered. Below them, wet puddles soaked their besotted feet.

New York City police say about 700 protesters have been arrested after they swarmed the Brooklyn Bridge and shut down a lane of traffic for several hours.

The group Occupy Wall Street has been camped out in a plaza in Manhattan’s Financial District for nearly two weeks staging various marches, and had orchestrated an impromptu trek to Brooklyn on Saturday evening. They walked in thick rows on the sidewalk up to the bridge, where some demonstrators spilled onto the roadway after being told to stay on the pedestrian pathway, police said. Most of those arrested face disorderly conduct charges, while others were accused of resisting arrest. View full article »
