C.A.T Team Busts Meth Lab in Moss Bluff

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On November 19 at approximately 3:30 p.m., detectives with the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) were dispatched to a home on E. Telephone Road in Moss Bluff in reference to a citizen’s complaint of a possible methamphetamine lab inside the home.

Upon detectives’ arrival, while attempting to make contact with the homeowner, Jason K. Smith, 39, and his live-in girlfriend, Amanda G. Chapman, 34, both of 428 E. Telephone Rd., Moss Bluff, they detected a strong chemical odor emitting from the front door. Detectives also observed several main components that are associated with operating a methamphetamine lab on the porch outside of the residence. Detectives secured the residence and obtained a search warrant for the home.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On November 2, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to 101 Jersey Drive in Ragley in reference to an anonymous tip of a possible methamphetamine lab inside the home.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with Chance W. Burnsworth, 29, and Melissa J. Langley, 43, residents of the home, and during a voluntary search of the home, deputies discovered several chemicals consistent with the creation or operation of a clandestine lab and powered methamphetamine.

Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to 4709 Alamitos Circle in Moss Bluff in reference to an anonymous tip of a possible methamphetamine lab in a barn behind this residence.

Upon arrival, deputies entered the barn and discovered Jerry L. Anderson, 48, 811 Kristy Lane, Sulphur, and William H. Heller, IV, 25, 4709 Alamitos Circle, Moss Bluff, in the process of smoking methamphetamine.

During a voluntary search of the barn, deputies discovered several chemicals consistent with the creation or operation of a clandestine lab and also located an active meth lab inside the barn. During further search, deputies also located methamphetamines, marijuana, several types of narcotics, and drug paraphernalia inside the home.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 18, detectives with the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) conducted an investigation at a home at 710 East College Street in Lake Charles.

During a voluntary search of the home, detectives discovered several chemicals consistent with the creation or operation of a clandestine lab and also located two active meth labs inside the home. During further search, detectives also located methamphetamines, marijuana, several types of narcotics, and drug paraphernalia inside the home.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On December 10, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a stop on a truck at Ashland and Wedgewood Street in Lake Charles for a traffic violation.

During the traffic stop deputies discovered the driver of the truck, Daniel B. Ralls, 34, 800 Contour Drive, Lake Charles, was in possession of a methadone pill with no prescription. Ralls advised deputies that he was also in possession of marijuana and his truck contained several containers currently in the process of manufacturing methamphetamine.

During a search of the truck, deputies discovered several chemicals consistent with creation or operation of a clandestine lab; numerous syringes, a metal spoon with residual meth and burn marks on it, two glass smoking pipes, rolling papers and a marijuana grinder. Deputies also located a coffee filter with a white, crystalized substance on it which Ralls advised was methamphetamine.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On November 16, at approximately 12:30 a.m., detectives with the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) were dispatched to 816 Bee Tree Street in Westlake in regard to a house fire that had possibly been caused by individuals manufacturing methamphetamine.

Upon arrival, C.A.T. detectives learned Westlake Fire Department had extinguished the fire prior to the entire house being destroyed by the fire. Detectives were unable to make contact with the homeowner or any other occupants, therefore a search warrant was obtained. During a search of the home, detectives located several items inside the home that were consistent with creation or operation of a clandestine lab.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On November 12, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to 2509 Demarest Street in Lake Charles, in reference to a report of a suspicious odor emitting from a home.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with Jerry T. Anderson, 48, and Angela R. Bertrand, 35, residents of the home, and immediately detected a strong odor of chemicals coming from inside the home.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On July 3, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Wal-Mart on Highway 14 in Lake Charles, regarding a report of shoplifting.

Upon arrival, deputies arrested Brandon W. Treadway, 21, Brian H. Treadway, 39, and Jennifer L. LaPrime, 23, all of 2101 Pujol Road, Lot # 108, Lake Charles, after they were discovered to be in possession of unpaid merchandise.

ERIC ACOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 7, at approximately 11:45 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to 101 Toussaint Road, Lot # 98, in Lake Charles, after receiving a complaint concerning the welfare of children in the home.

Upon arrival, deputies detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the mobile home. Once inside, received consent to search and located two baggies containing methamphetamine, several cigars containing a green-leafy substance, a postal digital shipping scale, and several chemicals inside the mobile home that were consistent with creation or operation of a clandestine lab. Haz-Mat was called to dismantle and clean up the meth lab.
