CPSO arrests two for Simple Criminal Damage to Property

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Friday April 3, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a call in reference to a criminal property damage. Upon arrival deputies spoke with the victim, who advised that someone had keyed her car. The victim told deputies she was at a local bar the night before and believed that is where the incident may have taken place.

During the investigation, detectives received video surveillance footage from the bar, showing Britney Ogea, 28, 6631 Hwy 3059, Lake Charles, and Joseph Miller, 25, 1659 E. Lincoln Road, Lake Charles, keying the victim’s car, causing approximately $4,500 worth of damage. When deputies spoke with Ogea and Miller they confirmed they keyed the victim’s car.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On March 10, at 11:55 p.m., a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop on a car near the intersection of Hwy 171 and Theriot Road in Moss Bluff.

The driver, Terrance J. Vezinat, 30, 1277 Hwy 171N, Lot #85, Lake Charles, was driving carelessly. When the deputy spoke with Vezinat he noticed an open container of beer in the car. Vezinat confirmed to the deputies he had been drinking.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Friday, February 20, 2015 at approximately 12:00 p.m., officers with the Lake Charles Police Department were dispatched to 3443 Nelson Road (Game Stop) in Lake Charles, LA, in reference to a robbery. Officers learned that two suspects entered the store and requested to see a game console. While the store attendant showed the system to the two suspects, one of the suspects snatched it from the attendant. The two suspects ran out of the store with the system.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Sunday February 1, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a black male robbed the Vegas Magic Casino located at 520 Hwy 397 in Lake Charles. He entered the casino, possibly armed with an unknown weapon, and demanded money from the clerk. The robber fled north on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On December 30, 2014 at approximately 4:00 p.m., a female was walking in the parking lot at Kroger’s (139 W McNeese Street) when a female suspect snatched her purse and fled. Two witnesses chased and apprehended the suspect. A male accomplice then approached the witnesses and produced a firearm. The female suspect was released and both suspects fled in a vehicle. Subsequent investigation revealed that the suspects were Stacy Dawn Browning and Evan Kade Hermann.

On Thursday, December 18, 2014 at approximately 1:36 AM, the TOUCHDOWN CONVENIENCE STORE, 3216 Gerstner Memorial Drive in Lake Charles, LA, was robbed by a black male.

On Thursday, December 18, 2014 at approximately 8:45 PM, the TOBACCO PLUS, 2626 Gerstner Memorial Drive in Lake Charles, LA, was robbed by a black male.

CPSO arrests woman for 2nd Degree Cruelty to a Juvenile

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On October 9 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call at a local hospital concerning a 2 year old child having severe burns on his body. Upon arrival deputies were informed that due to the severity of the burns the child would be transported to a hospital in Baton Rouge.

On October 16, detectives interviewed Melynnie Fondel, 32, 1411 Clarence St. B-6, Westlake, and she stated that she was running water for the child’s bath and had to step out to another room. While she stepped out she stated the child had crawled into the bathtub on his own. Fondel also stated that when she walked back into the bathroom the child was sitting in the water with a blank stare.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — During the months of September, October and November the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives were contacted by seven people who were victims of identity theft.

The investigation revealed Chris W. Breaux, 33, 5831 South 40 Court, Iowa, went online and stole the identity of these seven people to open up credit card accounts, apply for loans, and purchase items.

CPSO implements Annual Robbery Prevention Mobilization at Mall for the Holidays

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has implemented the Annual Robbery Prevention Mobilization (RPM) in an effort to deter crime and assist shoppers in the parking lot at the Prien Lake Mall during the holiday season which will begin November 28 and will continue through December 26, seven days a week from noon until one hour past mall closing.
