CPSO Vice makes arrests at Massage Parlor after Long Investigation



TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Vice Division received complaints of possible prostitution at the Asian Massage Parlor located at 242 W. Hale Street in Lake Charles which resulted in a 10 month investigation where detectives learned prostitution activity was being performed inside the massage parlor.

Louisiana State Police has activated the Louisiana AMBER Alert System on behalf of Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office for a child who was abducted shortly after midnight this morning from a residence on Paul Molbert Rd. in Duson, LA.

The press conference is over in Lafayette. Lafayette’s police chief says a burned truck found recently in Texas was registered to the man now facing a murder charge in the disappearance of college student Mickey Shunick.

Police Chief Jim Craft on Friday would not detail the evidence that has led police to believe that Shunick is dead.

Thirty-three-year-old Brandon Scott Lavergne was booked Thursday with first-degree murder and with aggravated kidnapping in connection with Shunick’s May 19 disappearance.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAFAYETTE, LA. — A registered sex offender has been booked on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the disappearance last May of a Louisiana college student, authorities said.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said Thursday night that 33-year-old Brandon Scott Lavergne, of the same parish, was booked on first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping charges by police in Lafayette, where University of Louisiana student Mickey Shunick went missing May 19.

McNeese State’s women’s basketball team returns to action Monday night to host interstate rival UL-Lafayette in a 7 p.m. contest at Burton Coliseum.  The game can be heard live on Cajun Radio (1290 AM or 1470 AM) with Brian Benoit and Tyler Williams calling all the action.

McNeese (2-1) is coming off two victories in the WNIT Consolation bracket over the weekend at Burton Coliseum.  The Cowgirls defeated Manhattan 69-52 in the first round and picked up a 61-56 overtime win over UAB in the second round. View full article »
