Verdine St. in Sulphur, the shooting victim was in the process of being transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

CPSO arrrests Moss Bluff man in Connection with Drive By Shooting

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On July 27, around 4:30 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded in reference to a report of shots fired at a home on E. Prien Lake Road in Lake Charles.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered while the homeowner and his family were sleeping, they heard numerous gun shots being fired at their home. Deputies also discovered a witness was able to get a detailed description, including the license plate, of a black truck that was seen fleeing the area when the shots were fired.

After running the license plate number through NCIC, deputies quickly located the owner of the truck, Donald J. Ellis, Jr., 23, 1349 John Belle Road, Moss Bluff, at his home where they also located the black truck observed fleeing the area of the shooting.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 23, at approximately 8:50 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to conduct a stop on a truck near the intersection of E. College Street and Texas Street in Lake Charles for a traffic violation.

When the deputy activated his car’s lights and sirens signaling for the driver of the truck to stop, the driver, later identified as Rodney G. Geyen, Jr., 48, 1531 6th Avenue, Lake Charles, did not comply and continued to flee.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 18, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a mobile home park in Lake Charles in reference to a complaint regarding convicted sex offender, John R. Gammage, Jr., 67, 8559 Gulf Highway, Lot # 23, Lake Charles, observed peeping into a 10 year old boy’s window, who also lives in the mobile home park, at approximately 2:30 a.m. that morning.

Deputies also received a separate complaint regarding Gammage looking into the vehicle and bedroom window of another family that also lives in the mobile home park.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 9, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a Moss Bluff business in reference to a burglary.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the owner of the business who advised between January 7th–9th, his business was burglarized and several items were stolen including copper tubing, condenser coils, an ice maker, a tool box, and a glass two door cooler, worth over $11,000.
During further investigation, deputies reviewed surveillance video from the business which captured a man, later identified as John Castille, Jr., 54, 321 Dalton Road, Westlake, loading the stolen items into a truck and leaving the business.

Castille was arrested on January 14 and charged with simple burglary; and theft over $1,500.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On September 21, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report from a woman advising since January 2013, she has received numerous harassing phone calls, letters and emails from Dallas L. Hanson, Jr., 52, 2899 Sugarloaf Drive, Lot # 80, Lake Charles, an ex-acquaintance, and he has also shown up at her home and place of employment even after numerous requests not to do so.

After further investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Hanson, and on January 7, Hanson was located and arrested at his home without incident. He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with stalking; and cyberstalking.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested convicted sex offenders Willie R. Reese, Jr., 38, 7693 Lacassine Avenue, Hayes, and Brian R. Tate, 31, 6012 N. Market Street, Shreveport, after an investigation revealed both had moved without notifying the proper authorities within three days, as required by law for all registered sex offenders.

Both were booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with failure to register as a sex offender.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On November 17 at approximately 2:00 a.m., a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a stop on a truck at the intersection of Bee Tree Street and Sampson Street in Westlake for a traffic violation. While pulling into a nearby parking lot after the deputy activated his unit’s lights and sirens, the driver of the truck struck a curb.

When the deputy approached the truck and spoke with the driver, Richard H. LeDoux, Jr., 43, 821 Bee Tree Street, Westlake, he detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath, along with slurred speech. LeDoux also advised the deputy that he had been drinking at a local bar prior to driving.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 6, detectives with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Vehicle Crimes Investigative Unit (VCIU) received information regarding possible stolen property located at the home of David B. Parker, Jr., 25, 2734 Opelousas Street, Lake Charles.

Upon arrival, detectives spoke with Parker and received consent to search his home and recovered over $20,000 worth of items that had been reported stolen from three separate homes in 2012 including a zero-turn lawnmower, a tractor, brush hog, and a utility trailer.
