TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On November 3, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a home in DeQuincy in reference to a theft of a cell phone. The victim told deputies he was contacted by Benjamin Lindemann, 27, 6659 McCown Road, Iowa, in reference to a vehicle the victim had for sale. The victim said on November 2, he picked Lindemann up so he could test drive the vehicle.

After the test drive, Lindemann told the victim he was not interested in the vehicle and asked to be dropped off at a location in Moss Bluff which was a different location from where he was picked up.After the victim dropped off Lindemann he realized his cell phone was missing.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On November 18 at approximately 2:30 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the Iowa Law Enforcement Center in reference to a local business owner reporting a theft.

The business owner advised he had hired Darren Williams, 44, 1804 8th Ave., Lake Charles, about 2 months prior to complete some construction projects.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On August 13 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary in progress call at a shop behind a house on Nick Martone Rd. in Iowa.

When deputies were close to the house they stopped a truck that matched the description of the one at the scene of the burglary. The driver of the truck, Jason E. Mack, 33, 813 Sundale Dr., Lake Charles, was pulling a trailer with power tools, batteries, fans and other tools. When questioned by deputies he confirmed he had broken into the shop and taken the items.

This warrant was conducted in reference to illegal narcotics being sold from this residence.

CPSO arrests woman for Burglary & Theft

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On May 2, at approximately 8:15 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a home on Lightner Street in Iowa in reference to a burglary.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who advised when returning home he discovered a woman, later identified as Desireah A. Chapman, 34, 503 N. Kinney Street, Iowa, loading items into the back of an SUV which was parked in the front yard. When Chapman saw the homeowner, she fled in the SUV at a high rate of speed. A witness was able to get a detailed description, including the license plate number, of the SUV Chapman fled in.
During the investigation, the victim discovered several items were stolen from his home including cleaning supplies, a tackle box, cast iron pots and a gaming console controller and several video games.

Tornados strike Central, Southern US, killing 4

A state official says a massive tornado that passed through or near several northern suburbs of Little Rock killed at least one person.

Brandon Morris, a spokesman for the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management, says that White County officials reported to the state that at least one person was killed by the tornado as it passed through their county.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Compliance and Awareness Program Unit (CAP) arrested convicted sex offenders Dallas E. Clement, 52, 2512 Davis Road, Westlake, and Randal J. Rougeau, 43, 419 S. Storer Street, Apt. B, Iowa, after an investigation revealed both failed to comply with their in-person registration as required by law for all registered sex offenders.

Clement, who was convicted of aggravated incest in October 2007 and also convicted of indecent behavior with a juvenile in April 2005, both in Calcasieu Parish, was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on March 12 and was charged with failure to register as a sex offender and released on a $7,500 bond set by Judge Kent Savoie.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 7, at approximately 11:00 p.m., a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s deputy conducted a stop on a car in the area of Sam Houston Jones Pkwy and Sid Lane in Moss Bluff for driving with no headlights.

When the deputy approached the car and spoke with the driver, AJ Sanders, Jr., 49, 102 S. Stockwell Street, Iowa, he detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath, along with slurred speech. Sanders also advised the deputy he drank several alcoholic beverages prior to driving.

Sanders refused to perform a standard field sobriety test and also refused to submit a breath intoxilyzer test. Sanders, who was convicted of DWI 3rd in Calcasieu Parish in 2010, was booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with DWI 4th.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Compliance and Awareness Program Unit (CAP) arrested convicted sex offenders Andrew Marras, IV, 39, 205 Moss Street, #7, Lake Charles, and Leapecous J. Celestine, Jr., 31, 7104 Bowman Road, Iowa, after an investigation revealed both had moved without notifying the proper authorities within three days, as required by law for all registered sex offenders.
