TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 28, at approximately 7:15 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched in reference to a vehicle burglary that occurred at a home on Foster Brothers Road in Vinton.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who advised during the night, two credit cards were stolen from inside her SUV that was parked at the home.

During the investigation, deputies received video surveillance footage which captured a man using the victim’s stolen credit cards to make unauthorized purchases at several Vinton and Sulphur businesses.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Tuesday, April 1, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched regarding a report of a suspicious incident that occurred at a home on Miller Avenue in Westlake.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the homeowner who advised a young white man approached her home trying to demonstrate and sale vacuum cleaners. After the homeowner refused to let the young man in her home, he fled in a 2004 white Chevrolet Tahoe with a Louisiana license plate, driven by an older white man.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Monday, February 24, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the Five-Star convenience store, 2577 Highway 171 North, Moss Bluff, in reference to an armed robbery.

Upon arrival deputies spoke with the store clerk who advised a woman entered the store brandishing a handgun, demanded the clerk’s cell phone, and forced her into the store restroom. Once the clerk was inside the restroom, the suspect pushed a cabinet down in front of the restroom door in an attempt to lock the clerk inside.

CPSO arrests man in connection with Theft of Diesel

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 13, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested James R. Townley, Jr., 50, 4032 Ellis Street, Lake Charles, in connection with over $5,000 worth of diesel purchased with a stolen gas card. His arrest was due to a tip called into Crime Stoppers from someone who recognized Townley from pictures of him taken from the surveillance video where the diesel was purchased.

The pictures were featured on local television stations and in local newspapers requesting assistance in identifying the man in the pictures.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Monday, November 18, 2013, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the Fuel Stop 36 convenience store, 108 Highway 397, Lake Charles, in reference to a theft of fuel.

While en route, deputies were advised the suspect used a stolen gas card to purchase over $790 in diesel and fled in an older model gray GMC van pulling a large trailer containing a 300 gallon container heading northbound on Highway 397. Moments later, deputies were advised the suspect abandoned the van and fled into a nearby wooded area. The Sheriff’s Office conducted an extensive search of the area but was unable to locate the suspect.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On August 30, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a mobile home on Patton Street in Sulphur in reference to a battery.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a verbal altercation between the victim and Jeffery L. Benoit, 50, Kimberly R. Smith, 32, both 2010 Patton Street, Lot # 8, Charles A. Simon, 38, 728 W. Burton Street, and Kimberly D. Doucet, 24, 3903 Carlyss Drive, all of Sulphur, had turned physical and the victim was struck, knocked unconscious and continuously beaten after falling to the ground.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On March 28, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the Dollar General Store, 5725 Highway 14, Lake Charles, in reference to an armed robbery.

Upon arrival deputies spoke with the store clerk who advised a man entered the store brandishing a handgun and demanded money. After stealing an undisclosed amount of money, the man fled the store on foot.
