TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Vice Division began an investigation in November of 2013 after detectives received numerous complaints about a store, Up in Smoke, located at 869 Sam Houston Jones Parkway, directly across the road from Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff, whose apparent primary sales was tobacco-type products.

Through the investigation detectives learned some of the products for sale at the store were glass smoking devices and containers used to hide objects (otherwise known as “hideaways”). The hideaways resemble Coke cans, cleaning supplies, or other common household products and have a hidden compartment located in them.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. (LSP) — An investigation initiated last summer has led to the arrest of twenty-four (24) individuals on drug related charges.

Investigators assigned to the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations (LSP BOI), Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO), Lake Charles Police Department (LCPD), ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office joined forces and launched an intensive investigation into illegal narcotics activity in and around Lake Charles, LA.

Justin Bieber had drugs and drug paraphernalia strewn all over his house when it was raided Tuesday … but drugs were not on deputies’ radar.

Sources familiar with the situation say when L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies searched the house … there were 2 large cookie jars filled with weed in plain view. There were also 4 – 5 empty codeine bottles in the mansion.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On April 22, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) Detective Sgt. Jeff Cole conducted a stop on a car traveling eastbound on I-10 between Vinton and Sulphur for a traffic violation.

When Sgt. Cole spoke with the driver, Emily T. Wallace, 31, 1022 Huge Wallace Road, Lafayette, he detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the car.

During a subsequent search of the car, Sgt. Cole recovered a can with a screw type false bottom, containing approximately 2 ounces of methamphetamine. He also recovered a small bag on her person containing approximately 2 ounces of methamphetamine, and 2 partially burnt marijuana cigarettes, along with a spoon, and a syringe from inside the car.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs by hosting National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The public can bring their medications for disposal to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office at 5400 E. Broad Street in Lake Charles on Saturday, April 27th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On April 17, detectives with the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) were contacted in reference to a package being delivered to a business on Moeling Street in Lake Charles. The package, which was intercepted through the mail by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, was found to contain approximately 505 grams of MDMA (ecstasy) powder.

Team) along with the assistance of the SWAT Team members executed a search warrant at the home of James Williams, 26, and Lanisha Bellard, 23, 4429 Lake Fairway Drive, Lake Charles, after an investigation revealed multiple incidents of drug activity at the home.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On March 14, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home in Sulphur in reference to a burglary.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who advised when he returned home, he observed 3 juveniles, later identified as two 16 year old boys and a 15 year old boy, running behind his home. During further investigation, the victim discovered a safe located in his bedroom had been opened and a prescription bottle of hydrocodine pills were stolen along with two packs of cigarettes.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 29, the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) along with the assistance of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Anti-Crime, Tactical & Training Unit (ACT-Team) executed a search warrant at the home of Kenneth R. Chieves, 37, 1506 13th Street, Lake Charles, after an investigation revealed multiple incidents of drug activity at the home.

During the search of the home, detectives located approximately 48 grams of methamphetamine, 3 grams of powder cocaine, 6 grams of crack cocaine, and several small baggies of marijuana. Detectives also located a 40 caliber handgun, along with over $1,600 cash.

Chieves, who is currently on parole for a previous possession of CDS II conviction, was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. He is charged with possession of marijuana; possession of CDS II (powder cocaine) with intent to distribute; possession of CDS II (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute; possession of CDS II (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute; possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS; and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Chieves was also charged on a warrant for distribution of CDS II (methamphetamine) in connection with a separate case.
