CPSO arrrests Moss Bluff man in Connection with Drive By Shooting

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On July 27, around 4:30 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded in reference to a report of shots fired at a home on E. Prien Lake Road in Lake Charles.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered while the homeowner and his family were sleeping, they heard numerous gun shots being fired at their home. Deputies also discovered a witness was able to get a detailed description, including the license plate, of a black truck that was seen fleeing the area when the shots were fired.

After running the license plate number through NCIC, deputies quickly located the owner of the truck, Donald J. Ellis, Jr., 23, 1349 John Belle Road, Moss Bluff, at his home where they also located the black truck observed fleeing the area of the shooting.

CPSO looking for 4 in Connection with Attempted Robberies in Moss Bluff

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Tuesday, March 18, between 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched regarding two separate reports of attempted robberies, one at the Five-Star convenience store and the other at Gillis Grocery, both on Highway 171 North in Moss Bluff.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered the subjects, described as two white men and two white women between 20 and 30 years old, used intimidation in an attempt to demand money from the store clerks. The suspects left without any money, then fled in a newer model, white Chevrolet Suburban with a dent in the driver’s front quarter panel. One of the women is described as being 5’4” tall, weighing approximately 135 pounds with straight black shoulder length hair.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — UPDATE: [3:29pm]: Subject has been found! — On December 16, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local hospital regarding a stabbing.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered the victim had been stabbed multiple times following an altercation with Yani H. Vincent, 20, Westlake. The victim was treated at a local hospital and released.

Deputies conducted an extensive search of the area, but were unable to locate Vincent.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On March 12, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Lake Charles and Beaumont Offices of the US Marshals Office, located and arrested Jordan M. Davis, 23, 1835 Rena Street, Lake Charles, who was wanted for 2nd degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, without incident in Beaumont Texas.

During the early morning hours of March 10, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to The Keg at 4010 Goodman in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival they discovered Quincy James Lede, 33, Lake Charles, dead in the parking lot from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — Today the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office upgraded the charges against Brian D. Diamond, 41, 904 S. Perkins Ferry Road, Moss Bluff, from 2nd degree battery to manslaughter since the death of Matthew V. Crochet. Diamond’s bond has been increased from $350,000 to $950,000. These charges stem from an early morning fight on January 1 at a New Year’s Eve party on S. Perkins Ferry Road in Moss Bluff. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a man, later identified as Matthew V. Crochet, 36, Moss Bluff, lying on the ground unresponsive. The investigation revealed a physical altercation between Crochet and Diamond occurred at the party where alcohol was served. Medical emergency personnel were called and transported Crochet to a Lafayette hospital for treatment for severe head trauma where he died on January 2 as a result of his injuries.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — UPDATE: SUBJECT HAS BEEN ARRESTED! On April 23 at approximately 9:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to 1024 Walters Street, Apt. # 108, in Lake Charles to investigate a complaint regarding drug activity at the apartment.

When deputies arrived and spoke with tenant Kevin M. Jenkins, 25, they observed several half-burnt cigarettes containing a green-leafy substance inside the apartment. After receiving permission to search the apartment, deputies recovered a bag from the top of Jenkins’ closet which contained 6 bags of marijuana.

CPSO ARRESTS MOSS BLUFF MAN FOR BURGLARY IN PROGRESS

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On March 4, at approximately 6:45 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to The Drug Store, 872 Sam Houston Jones Parkway, Moss Bluff, in reference to a burglary alarm being activated.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered the deadbolt of the front door was broken. After deputies checked the store for possible suspects, the pharmacy owner arrived and was able to run a drug inventory report which revealed over $4,500 worth of narcotics medications, including approximately 7000 Hydrocodone tablets, 700 Morphine tablets, 575 Oxycodone tablets, 575 Oxycontin, and 130 Soma tablets, had been stolen. ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On January 10, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Scott L. Dorow, 27, 202 E. Pine Street, New London, Wisconsin, formerly of Sulphur, in connection with the aggravated burglary at a home on Royer Loop in Sulphur in July 2011.

The investigation revealed the homeowner encountered an intruder, later identified as Dorow, inside his home. Upon seeing the homeowner, Dorow fled and was quickly picked up outside the house by a car with three other people inside. After following the car in his truck, the homeowner witnessed the car stop briefly and Dorow jumped out of the car and fled on foot. View full article »
