ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Saturday, July 14, around 5:30 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a single car accident at the intersection of Route 66 and Highway 27 in DeQuincy.

Upon arrival, the deputy discovered the car appeared to have run off the road and into a ditch. When the deputy approached the car and spoke with the driver of the car, Christina M. Lynch, 47, 1378 Cooper Road, DeQuincy, he detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from her breath, along with slurred speech. Deputies also recovered an open alcoholic container from inside the car.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Wednesday, July 10, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) Detective Sgt. Stuart Henderson conducted a stop on a car for a traffic violation near mile marker 13 eastbound on I-10.

When the driver of the car, Brendon K. Preston, 27, 1401 Lincoln Avenue, Marrero, LA, began to act suspiciously during the traffic stop, Sgt. Henderson asked for permission to search the car and he refused.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 7, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched after receiving a report of Casey B. LeDoux, 23, 907 Parish Road, Vinton, sexually assaulting a 3 year old girl while she visited family at a Vinton home. LeDoux was an acquaintance of the victim’s family.

Further investigation was conducted and Judge Clayton Davis signed a warrant for LeDoux’s arrest.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 16, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the AT&T Store on Derek Drive in Lake Charles in reference to a burglary alarm that had been triggered. When deputies arrived, they discovered one of the glass doors had been shattered and several cell phones and computer tablets, worth over $5,700, had been stolen.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 18, detectives with the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office contacted Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives regarding a report of several personal checks stolen from a home in Simpson, Louisiana.

After realizing the checks had been stolen, the victim contacted his bank and discovered over $2,000 worth of checks had been written and cashed at several banks in Calcasieu Parish.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 27, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office re-arrested former priest Mark A. Broussard, 56, 132 Canary Lane, Duson, who is currently incarcerated at the Calcasieu Correctional Center, and charged him 24 counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and 6 additional counts of sexual battery after further investigation revealed Broussard had inappropriate sexual contact with an 8 year old victim between approximately 1986 and 1987 while he and his family were attending Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church in Lake Charles.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On May 24, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched regarding a report of a rape. The 15 year old female victim stated Lorenza J. Fontenot, 36, 1404 St. Mary Street, Lake Charles, who is a family member, took her to a local boat launch during the early morning hours and forcefully raped her.

Further investigation was conducted and on June 27 Judge Clayton Davis signed a warrant for Fontenot’s arrest.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 26, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a pharmacy on Ryan Street in Lake Charles in reference to Victoria A. Smith, 36, 2139 Martha Street, Lake Charles, attempting to fill a forged prescription for Lorecet. When the doctor, whose name was on the prescription, was contacted, it was revealed he did not authorize the prescription.
