ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On April 8 around 10:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home on W. Dick Hayes Road in Westlake in reference to a burglary in progress.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who advised when returning home he discovered a man, later identified as Joshua R. Bryant, 20, 1801 Augusta Street, Westlake, driving away from his home at a high rate of speed. The victim was able to get a detailed description, including the license plate number, of the SUV in which Bryant fled.

During further investigation, the victim discovered the rear door of his home had been shattered and several items were stolen from his home including eight firearms, an X-Box gaming system, several pieces of jewelry, electronics and a checkbook.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 10, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home in Sulphur in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who advised family member, Ashley R. Murphy, 31, 5013 Hawthorne Street, Sulphur, entered his home without permission and stole several items including golf clubs, purses, checkbooks, credit cards and social security cards.

During further investigation, it was discovered Murphy used the victim’s credit card to purchase a room at a local hotel and also purchased gas from a local gas station by forging one of the stolen checks.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 28, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched regarding a complaint of a suspicious pick-up truck at a storage building in Sulphur.

Upon arrival, deputies observed a truck matching the description attempting to drive out of the parking lot of the storage building. When deputies approached the truck and spoke with the occupants, Richard L. Gallier, 30, Tiffany M. Derouen, 41, both of 7803 Lorrain Road, Iowa, Angela D. Perry, 33, and Jeremy M. Perry, 37, both of 523 W. Burton Street, Sulphur, they observed numerous items, including bed frames and weight equipment, in the back of the truck.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On December 5, 2012 at 03:28 a.m. Lake Charles Police Department Officers were dispatched to 203 Arlington in reference to 3 black males walking in the area looking into vehicles. The subjects were seen pulling on door handles wearing backpacks.

Upon officers arriving, a short foot chase ensued and all 3 suspects were located and arrested. Two backpacks were also recovered. Officers recovered several stolen items that were in the possession of all three suspects. The property was stolen out of 5 separate vehicles in the “University” area.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On October 7, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home on Temple Lane in DeQuincy in reference to a burglary.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who advised when he returned home, he discovered his front door had been forced open, damaging the door and the door frame, and several items including a small safe containing personal records, deeds, bonds, a homemade coin bank, social security cards, and three firearms were stolen.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On October 5, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched in reference to the theft of a commercial paint sprayer stolen from a construction site in Lake Charles.

During further investigation, deputies discovered Stephen A. Hendrix, 37, 3715 Swanee Street, Lake Charles, entered a trailer at the construction site and removed the commercial paint sprayer, valued at over $1,800.

Hendrix was arrested and at the time of his arrest he was in possession of the stolen commercial paint sprayer. After receiving consent from Hendrix, deputies conducted a search of his truck and recovered numerous Xanax pills for which Hendrix did not have a prescription.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On September 13 around 9:30 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched in reference to a possible burglary in progress at a home on Tallow Road in Lake Charles.

The caller advised he observed a suspicious truck driven by a man, later identified as Gregory A. Jones, 54, 4257 5th Avenue, Apt. 111, Lake Charles, pull out from behind the home with numerous tools and equipment belonging to the homeowner in the back of the truck.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 6, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home in Sulphur regarding a report of a burglary.

When deputies arrived, they spoke with the victim who advised, after returning home, she discovered a laptop computer, an iPhone, several pieces of jewelry, and a handgun were missing from her home.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On October 16, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local mobile home complex regarding a report of a burglary that had occurred the previous day.

When deputies arrived, they spoke with the victim who advised them his home was burglarized and several items were stolen, including a 16 gauge shotgun, a DVD player, a collectors gold coin, frozen meats, shotgun shells, and a shotgun cleaning kit. View full article »
