ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On August 30, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a mobile home on Patton Street in Sulphur in reference to a battery.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a verbal altercation between the victim and Jeffery L. Benoit, 50, Kimberly R. Smith, 32, both 2010 Patton Street, Lot # 8, Charles A. Simon, 38, 728 W. Burton Street, and Kimberly D. Doucet, 24, 3903 Carlyss Drive, all of Sulphur, had turned physical and the victim was struck, knocked unconscious and continuously beaten after falling to the ground.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On November 15, at approximately 12:30 p.m., an off-duty Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy observed a man, later identified as Kevin D. Trahan, 53, Sulphur, striking a female driver of a truck that was parked at the Lake Charles Civic Center.

During the investigation, deputies discovered while the victim sat in her truck with the driver’s side window down, Trahan forced his way into the truck window, grabbed the victim by the hair and demanded she give him her purse. Trahan continued to force his way into the truck’s window and began choking the victim while attempting to grab her purse.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On March 29, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home in Iowa in reference to a domestic battery.

The caller advised during a verbal altercation between the victim and her boyfriend, Nathaniel J. Edwards, 44, Iowa, Edwards had bit off a portion of the victim’s finger, and struck the victim in the face, severely damaging her front bottom teeth. When deputies arrived, they learned Edwards had fled the scene.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 26, at around 9:45 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local hospital regarding the welfare of an 86 year old woman. Upon arrival, deputies discovered during an examination by doctors, the woman was found to have suffered from a fractured hip, abrasions to her head, and skin tears on her hand.

During further investigation it was revealed family member Jennifer D. Demary, 42, 300 Dobbertine Road, Lake Charles, contacted the elderly woman at approximately 4:15 a.m. that morning for a ride to a home on Orange Street in Lake Charles. Upon arrival to the home, Demary demanded money and the elderly victim’s car keys and when the victim refused, Demary pushed the elderly victim to the ground, causing the injuries.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 18, at approximately around 9:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home on Gulf Highway in Lake Charles regarding a report of a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered the victim and her boyfriend, Sean L. Collett, 24, 203 Cobb Road, Lake Charles, had an argument that turned into a physical altercation.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 1, at approximately 2:35 a.m., the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a fight at a New Year’s Eve party on S. Perkins Ferry Road in Moss Bluff.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a man, later identified as Matthew V. Crochet, 36, Moss Bluff, lying on the ground unresponsive. Medical emergency personnel were called and transported Crochet to a Lafayette hospital for treatment for severe head trauma where he died today as a result of his injuries.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On April 28, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives received a report of domestic battery.

When deputies spoke with the victim, she advised during a verbal altercation with family member Charles R. Moore, 40, 1067 Southern Meadows, Lot # 5, Moss Bluff, Moore struck her in the face, then wrapped a cord around her neck and began strangling her.

During the investigation, detectives discovered during an examination by doctors, the victim was found to have suffered a bruised eye and a broken hand.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested Kevin M. Jenkins, 25, who was wanted for 2nd degree battery; battery on a police officer; resisting arrest; and possession of marijuana with intent.

On April 23 at approximately 9:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Jenkins’ apartment, 1024 Walters Street, Apt. # 108, Lake Charles, to investigate a complaint regarding drug activity at the apartment.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On March 30, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to a local hospital after receiving a complaint from the Office of Elderly Protective Services regarding the welfare of a 78 year old woman.

When detectives arrived, they discovered during an examination by doctors, the woman was found to have suffered from a fractured rib with a slight displacement.
