TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On May 12, at approximately 3:40 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress at a home on Gant Road in Sulphur. While en route, deputies were advised by a witness that she observed a male, later identified as Joshua Langford, 23, 1207 Ravia Rd. #81, Sulphur, leaving the residence with a window unit. The witness was able to give deputies a description and license plate number of the vehicle seen leaving the scene.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Friday April 3, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a call in reference to a criminal property damage. Upon arrival deputies spoke with the victim, who advised that someone had keyed her car. The victim told deputies she was at a local bar the night before and believed that is where the incident may have taken place.

During the investigation, detectives received video surveillance footage from the bar, showing Britney Ogea, 28, 6631 Hwy 3059, Lake Charles, and Joseph Miller, 25, 1659 E. Lincoln Road, Lake Charles, keying the victim’s car, causing approximately $4,500 worth of damage. When deputies spoke with Ogea and Miller they confirmed they keyed the victim’s car.

CPSO arrests man for String of Vehicle and Residential Burglaries

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 23, at approximately 1:00 a.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a burglary at a home on Mary Karla Drive in Lake Charles. Upon arrival, the homeowner advised deputies she was awakened to a man, later identified as Joshua Fortune, 17, 1724 Quail Lane Apt. A, Lake Charles, shinning a flashlight on her. She said Fortune was in her room going through her belongings and when she screamed he fled. She informed deputies that she had two cell phones missing from the kitchen and both of her vehicles had been burglarized. She used the locater on her cell phone, and advised deputies her phone was in the area of Quail Lane.

When deputies spotted Fortune a short distance away from the home he fled from deputies, resulting in a brief foot pursuit until Fortune was apprehended. While deputies were patting down Fortune they located a large Buck knife as well as a key to a Jeep.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On December 30, 2014 at approximately 4:00 p.m., a female was walking in the parking lot at Kroger’s (139 W McNeese Street) when a female suspect snatched her purse and fled. Two witnesses chased and apprehended the suspect. A male accomplice then approached the witnesses and produced a firearm. The female suspect was released and both suspects fled in a vehicle. Subsequent investigation revealed that the suspects were Stacy Dawn Browning and Evan Kade Hermann.

CPSO arrests woman for leaving 4 Year Old Home Alone

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call for service regarding a 4 year old child walking alone down Gulf Highway in Lake Charles.

The investigation revealed a family member, Jamie Jackson, 23, 814 Topsy Road, Lake Charles, who was babysitting the child at her home while her father was at work, left the child unattended while she drove her nephew to school then stopped at a her aunt’s home to have coffee. Jackson told detectives the home does not have proper heating, so she left the gas stove on with the door open to heat the home while she was away. When she returned home, Jackson observed the front door open and the child was missing.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 20 investigators with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Aaron Blake Gumm, 29, 2504 Stingray Drive in Lake Charles, for first degree robbery. Following the release of surveillance footage of the robbery on local media outlets, investigators received a Crimestoppers tip indicating Gumm may have involvement in the robbery which occurred on January 17 at the Conoco convenience store at 6720 Nelson Road. Further investigation led detectives to 2504 Stingray Drive where contact was made with Gumm. Upon questioning Gumm, he confirmed he committed the robbery but said he did so with a BB gun, not a firearm. Detectives recovered the BB gun as well as miscellaneous items used or taken during the robbery.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On December 22, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s deputies conducted a stop on a car driven by Leonard Breaux, 38, 323 Papania Road, Ragley, LA, near the intersection of Sam Houston Jones Parkway and Reserve Drive in Moss Bluff for a traffic violation.

CPSO arrests man for 3rd DWI

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On December 18, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a DWI and seatbelt checkpoint at the 2900 block of East Napoleon Street, Sulphur. Glenn A. Miller, 47, 759 Louisiana Avenue, Lake Charles, attempted to drive through the checkpoint. While Deputies were speaking with Miller they smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle. Miller advised deputies that he had consumed alcohol before driving. Miller also advised deputies that he did not have a valid driver’s license.

Miller performed poorly on a standard field sobriety test. Miller then submitted to a breath intoxilyzer test, which concluded he was over the legal limit.

Miller, who has 2 prior DWI arrests within the last ten years, was arrested and booked in the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with DWI 3rd and driving under suspension for prior DWI offenses.

CPSO arrests woman for 2nd Degree Cruelty to a Juvenile

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On October 9 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call at a local hospital concerning a 2 year old child having severe burns on his body. Upon arrival deputies were informed that due to the severity of the burns the child would be transported to a hospital in Baton Rouge.

On October 16, detectives interviewed Melynnie Fondel, 32, 1411 Clarence St. B-6, Westlake, and she stated that she was running water for the child’s bath and had to step out to another room. While she stepped out she stated the child had crawled into the bathtub on his own. Fondel also stated that when she walked back into the bathroom the child was sitting in the water with a blank stare.
