In a joint investigation that has spanned almost a year, Sheriff Tony Mancuso and District Attorney John DeRosier announced the arrest of William Felix Vail, 73, for the murder of his wife, Mary Horton Vail, in October 1962. Vail was arrested at his home located in Canyon Lake, Texas which is between San Antonio and Austin. Both DeRosier and Mancuso said this is undoubtedly the coldest case that either of their offices has investigated.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On May 4, 2013 at approximately 1:50 AM L.C.P.D. Corporal S. Touchet & Officer S. Tatum investigated a stolen vehicle complaint which occurred at 1301 Ryan Street OB’s parking lot. As Officers were investigating this complaint they put a bolo out for the stolen vehicle. Shortly thereafter officer observed the stolen vehicle pull up at a stop sign eastbound on 2nd Street. When L.C.P.D. Officers tried to stop the stolen vehicle, the driver refused & a vehicle pursuit ensued. The suspect driving the vehicle crashed into a fence at 1708 21st Street then fled on foot. Cpl. Fontenot and his K-9 were deployed and K-9 tracked from vehicle to 1608 21st Street. Officers made contact with Michael DeVille at the residence read him his rights then questioned him and he admitted to stealing vehicle.

Three college friends of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were arrested and accused Wednesday of removing a backpack containing hollowed-out fireworks from Tsarnaev’s dorm room three days after the attack to keep him from getting into trouble.

In court papers, the FBI said one of them threw the backpack in the garbage – it was later found in a landfill by law enforcement officers – after the young men concluded from news reports that Tsarnaev was one of the bombers.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — Lake Charles Police Department Detective Division is continuing follow-up investigation in reference to the Triple Homicide that occurred at McMillian Park (343 Goss Street) Lake Charles, LA. During the course of the investigation, Detectives have made three additional arrests regarding this case

On March 25, 2013 Lake Charles Police Detectives obtained a warrant and arrested Jasmine Jere Hales (20 yoa), 2300 Channel Street #B Lake Charles, LA. Charges: Six Counts Accessory After the Fact. Bond was set by Judge Robert Wyatt at $225,000.00.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On April 3, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched in reference to an armed robbery at a home on Gelpi Drive in Lake Charles.

When deputies arrived, they spoke with the victim who advised two men, later identified as Jacobie D. Lede, 17, 2127 2nd Street, and Dorian D. Malbreaux, 20, 1432 Commercial Street, both of Lake Charles, came to his front door brandishing a handgun and demanded money. After stealing an undisclosed amount of money, Lede and Malbreaux fled on foot.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On the night of April 5, 2013, a person who saw the media release regarding the suspect who robbed the Valero gas station and Simple Pleasures adult store recognized him at a local casino and notified police. The suspect, Jordan James, was in the company of Gregory Holt. Both James and Holt were detained and eventually arrested. They are both currently incarcerated at the Calcasieu Correctional Center on charges related to the robberies. Thank you to our local media partners and all of the concerned citizens who provided information on this case.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On March 12, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Lake Charles and Beaumont Offices of the US Marshals Office, located and arrested Jordan M. Davis, 23, 1835 Rena Street, Lake Charles, who was wanted for 2nd degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, without incident in Beaumont Texas.

During the early morning hours of March 10, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to The Keg at 4010 Goodman in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival they discovered Quincy James Lede, 33, Lake Charles, dead in the parking lot from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On April 12th, 2012, an unknown suspect entered Tiger Nation, located at 1708 West Prien Lake Road armed with a handgun. The suspect wore a disguise and demanded money and other belongings from the stores employee. The suspect incapacitated the victim and fled the scene in a stolen vehicle. The investigation led Lake Charles Police to the discovery of the vehicle and items belonging to the suspect. Evidence was sent to The Southwest Crime Lab for DNA analysis.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — In September 2012, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from the Department of Child and Family Services regarding Clarence E. Sanderson, 74, 406 Gobblers Knob Road, Lufkin, Texas, formerly of Starks, having inappropriate sexual contact with a 7 year old male family member on numerous occasions in 2012. Sanderson lived in Starks at the time of the incidents.

After further investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Sanderson on January 30 and on February 16 he was arrested and booked into the Lufkin City Jail by Lufkin City Police Department.
