TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On November 18 at approximately 2:30 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the Iowa Law Enforcement Center in reference to a local business owner reporting a theft.

The business owner advised he had hired Darren Williams, 44, 1804 8th Ave., Lake Charles, about 2 months prior to complete some construction projects.

CPSO arrest man for 3rd DWI

imageTOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On November 9, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a traffic stop in Lake Charles for a traffic violation. The driver, Shawn R. Ducre, 34, 2421 11th Street, Lake Charles was driving north bound on Martin Luther King Blvd. when deputies heard loud music coming from his car. When they approached Ducre, he had a strong odor of alcohol beverages emitting from his body.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On October 31, while conducting an investigating, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives received information that Charlie C. Laing, 32, 1623 Pinewood Road #2, Lake Charles, had sold a pink colored handgun to a local resident. Laing had bragged to others that he had stolen the gun from his ex-girlfriend while he helped her move out of town and she was not aware the gun was missing.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On October 29, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a local bank in reference to a possible bank fraud.

During the investigation, detectives discovered Jonathan P. Vail, 28, 280 Scheufens Rd, Lake Charles, who was working with a local armored truck company, made a drop deposit to a local bank where it was observed that the transaction was in the negative by $200,000.00.

CPSO arrests man for Cruelty to a Juvenile

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On October 7 Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives investigated a complaint of cruelty to a juvenile where the 4 year old child was found to have large bruises on her back. The investigation revealed a family acquaintance, Olmer M. Funes, 28, Lake Charles, whipped her with a belt on her back.

Funes was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with cruelty to a juvenile.

Judge Robert Wyatt set his bond at $5,000.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On September 30 at approximately 8:00 a.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a residence because the owner arrived home and found Christina M. Holt, 33, 101 Tousaint Road, Lot 111, Lake Charles, who is a registered sex offender, to be staying with the owner’s roommate. Holt was sleeping at the home because she got into an altercation with her boyfriend.

When deputies spoke with Holt she did not have the proper identification on her and she stated that she was previously released from jail in Baton Rouge on August 15 and has been staying in Lake Charles for approximately one month where she has failed to register.

CPSO arrests man for Carnal Knowledge & Possession of Bombs

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On September 12 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was contacted regarding David B. Parker Jr., 26, 2734 Opelousas Street, Lake Charles, having sexual intercourse with a sixteen year old girl on two separate occasions in August. At the conclusion of the investigation, a warrant was issued for Parker’s arrest.

On September 28, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a phone call advising that Parker had been seen entering his home. Deputies were dispatched to the home and located Parker in the attic along with two pipe bombs. The Louisiana State Police were called to detonate the two bombs.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. On September 22, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local store where a woman attempted to purchase a flat screen TV with 6 – $100 counterfeit bills. When she realized the employee knew the money was counterfeit, she fled the store.

The employees gave a description to deputies of the woman and the car in which she was last seen leaving the parking lot. With that information, deputies initiated a traffic stop on Karen J. Collins, 52, 1015 N. Simmons Street, Lake Charles. Collins was transported back to the store where she was identified by the store employees.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On September 4 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a 16 year old girl being videotaped without her knowledge.

The investigation revealed Joshua R. Grubham, 32, 2465 Highway 397, Lake Charles, set up his cell phone inside of the bathroom so he could videotape the girl completely nude while she was in the bathroom alone. He confirmed to deputies he had done this on several occasions between January – September 4, 2014.
