LCPD: Armed Robbery Arrest

DAVID-BILLY-PARKER-JR.-504x630.jpgTOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Thursday November 19, 2015, Lake Charles Police Department Detective Division identified an individual wanted on arrest warrants for multiple counts of Aggravated Kidnapping, Armed Robbery, Armed Robbery with a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon as David Billy Parker.

Members of the Lake Charles Police Department S.W.A.T. team located and arrested Parker without incident at 224 Balboa Street in Lake Charles. The warrants and subsequent arrest were made relating to an armed robbery on 11-17-15 at Pay Day Money located at 1329 Prien Lake Rd and another armed robbery that occurred on 11-15-15 at 401 N. Lakeshore Drive.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On May 14, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to call at a local hospital concerning an 8 year old girl having severe burns on both her hands and numerous marks all over her body. Once detectives arrived the child stated that Kerrian Javana Clofer, 26, Elms Street, Lake Charles, had held her hands over the open flame of a gas stove after she ate a snack without permission.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Monday, May 11 around 8:00 a.m. the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at a residence in Lake Charles in reference to suspicious circumstances.

Detectives learned Carl Mark Slaven, 54, Lake Charles, had held two elderly family members, ages 83 and 91, overnight against their will. Slaven broke their home phones and their emergency alert necklaces and emergency alert callbox so the family members could not contact anyone. Slaven struck both family members and forced the family members to provide him with signed checks from their personal bank account.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — In June 2014 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated allegations of sexual battery made by several residents of Excelsior House Sober Living Facilities in Lake Charles against the owner, Eric W. Duplechin, 801 Tulane St., and resident, Kenton N. Thibodeaux, 3740 Kirkman St., both of Lake Charles. The findings from this investigation were turned over to the District Attorney’s Office in October.

On February 3, 2015 the DA’s Office accepted the charges of three counts of sexual battery against both Duplechin and Thibodeaux.

Verdine St. in Sulphur, the shooting victim was in the process of being transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 27, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a house on Joe Primeaux Road in Hayes in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who stated she had been staying with a family member since before Christmas and when she returned back to her home she noticed some of her jewelry was missing.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On November 3, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a home in DeQuincy in reference to a theft of a cell phone. The victim told deputies he was contacted by Benjamin Lindemann, 27, 6659 McCown Road, Iowa, in reference to a vehicle the victim had for sale. The victim said on November 2, he picked Lindemann up so he could test drive the vehicle.

After the test drive, Lindemann told the victim he was not interested in the vehicle and asked to be dropped off at a location in Moss Bluff which was a different location from where he was picked up.After the victim dropped off Lindemann he realized his cell phone was missing.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On December 4, at approximately 10:50 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s deputies conducted a stop on a car driven by Ryan L. Royer, 33, 615 W Napoleon Street, Apt 20, Sulphur, near the intersection of E Napoleon Street and Hwy 90 in Sulphur for a traffic violation.

When the deputies approached the car and spoke with Royer they detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the his breath. Royer advised deputies he had drunk a bottle of whiskey and a beer. Royer was very unstable and unable to complete the standard field sobriety testing. Royer submitted to a breath intoxilyzer test, which concluded he was over the limit.
