TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On May 14, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to call at a local hospital concerning an 8 year old girl having severe burns on both her hands and numerous marks all over her body. Once detectives arrived the child stated that Kerrian Javana Clofer, 26, Elms Street, Lake Charles, had held her hands over the open flame of a gas stove after she ate a snack without permission.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On October 9 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call at a local hospital concerning a 2 year old child having severe burns on his body. Upon arrival deputies were informed that due to the severity of the burns the child would be transported to a hospital in Baton Rouge.

On October 16, detectives interviewed Melynnie Fondel, 32, 1411 Clarence St. B-6, Westlake, and she stated that she was running water for the child’s bath and had to step out to another room. While she stepped out she stated the child had crawled into the bathtub on his own. Fondel also stated that when she walked back into the bathroom the child was sitting in the water with a blank stare.

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Friday, August 8, 2014 at approximately 5:47 a.m., the Lake Charles Police Department received a call at 2510 Hodges Street in reference to a shooting. Upon Officers’ arrival, they located a black male, Joseph Blue, deceased.

Investigation resulted in the arrest of Onzeletta Washington, (black female, 33 yoa, 2510 Hodges Street) on the charge of 2nd degree murder.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On August 30, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a mobile home on Patton Street in Sulphur in reference to a battery.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a verbal altercation between the victim and Jeffery L. Benoit, 50, Kimberly R. Smith, 32, both 2010 Patton Street, Lot # 8, Charles A. Simon, 38, 728 W. Burton Street, and Kimberly D. Doucet, 24, 3903 Carlyss Drive, all of Sulphur, had turned physical and the victim was struck, knocked unconscious and continuously beaten after falling to the ground.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On April 10, at approximately 3:15 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a mobile home on Highway 3059 in reference to a disturbance.

Deputies were advised Alvin Sylvester, Jr., 59, Lake Charles, went to the mobile home belonging to his estranged wife, broke several windows of the home and threated to kill the occupants of the home. Sylvester fled on foot before deputies arrived.

At approximately 7:00 a.m., deputies responded to the mobile home again in reference to a stabbing.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On March 29, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home in Iowa in reference to a domestic battery.

The caller advised during a verbal altercation between the victim and her boyfriend, Nathaniel J. Edwards, 44, Iowa, Edwards had bit off a portion of the victim’s finger, and struck the victim in the face, severely damaging her front bottom teeth. When deputies arrived, they learned Edwards had fled the scene.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 26, at around 9:45 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local hospital regarding the welfare of an 86 year old woman. Upon arrival, deputies discovered during an examination by doctors, the woman was found to have suffered from a fractured hip, abrasions to her head, and skin tears on her hand.

During further investigation it was revealed family member Jennifer D. Demary, 42, 300 Dobbertine Road, Lake Charles, contacted the elderly woman at approximately 4:15 a.m. that morning for a ride to a home on Orange Street in Lake Charles. Upon arrival to the home, Demary demanded money and the elderly victim’s car keys and when the victim refused, Demary pushed the elderly victim to the ground, causing the injuries.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 14, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home on Guernsey Drive in Ragley regarding a stabbing.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered the victim had been stabbed in the chest following a domestic altercation with Wendy A. Istre, 33, 107 Guernsey Drive, Ragley. Medical emergency personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment for a punctured lung and he is currently listed in stable condition.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 1, at approximately 2:35 a.m., the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a fight at a New Year’s Eve party on S. Perkins Ferry Road in Moss Bluff.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a man, later identified as Matthew V. Crochet, 36, Moss Bluff, lying on the ground unresponsive. Medical emergency personnel were called and transported Crochet to a Lafayette hospital for treatment for severe head trauma where he died today as a result of his injuries.
