LCPD: Homicide on Allen St in Lake Charles

TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 1:57am, officers of the Lake Charles Police Department were dispatched to 2706 Allen Street in reference to the report of a shooting at that location. Upon arrival officers located a black male, later identified as Wilbert J. LaFleur III of Lake Charles, deceased in the front yard of that residence. Corporals Mitch Sawyer and Kirk Dugas along with Officer Jeremy Sherman handled the initial investigation.

Through the course of the investigation into this incident, Richard Moss, 60 years old of Lake Charles, was charged with 2nd Degree Murder. He was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. His bond is pending, no picture available at this time.

LCPD: Attempted 2nd Degree Murder



ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 7:55 p.m., Lake Charles Police Officers were dispatched to 1908 Winterhalter Street in reference to a shooting with two individuals possibly being shot.

Investigation revealed that area community members were holding a candlelight vigil for the three victims in last year’s triple homicide at McMillan Park when an argument occurred resulting in a shooting.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound and was taken by private means to a local hospital where he was taken to emergency surgery. As of 2:30 a.m., the victim was still in surgery.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 9, 2013 at 5:58 p.m., the Lake Charles Police Department responded to 1701 Sunset Drive in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, the victim was located at a neighbor’s residence with an apparent gunshot wound. Gary Jonathan Thibodeaux was identified as the shooter and located inside his residence at 1701 Sunset Drive.

He was arrested without incident and booked for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. The victim was treated and released from a local hospital. The suspect has a lengthy criminal history including an arrest for 1st Degree Murder.
