ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On August 3, detectives with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Vehicle Crimes Unit responded to an apartment complex on S. Beglis Parkway in Sulphur, regarding two vehicle burglaries where the victims reported several pieces of stereo equipment, worth over $3,000, had been stolen out of their unlocked vehicles.

During further investigation, detectives were contacted by one of the victims who had discovered stereo equipment stolen from both vehicles had been placed for sale on an online sale site.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 9, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local casino parking garage in reference to a vehicle burglary.

When deputies spoke with the victim, he advised two sets of golf clubs, clothing items, an undetermined amount of cash, and a gaming console with games, was stolen from the back of his SUV that was parked in the casino parking garage.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On March 22, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the C.A.T. Team Sgt. Jeff Cole conducted a stop on a car for a traffic violation which was traveling east on I-10 near mile marker 7.

The driver of the car, Darrell L. Nunnery, Jr., 21, 14157 Happywoods Drive, Hammond, told Sgt. Cole he was traveling back home to Hammond from Beaumont. View full article »

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On March 8, a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched to an abandoned mobile home on Ravia Road in Sulphur in reference to a report of a burglary.

Upon entering the mobile home to check for possible suspects, the deputy detected a strong odor of chemicals coming from the back bedroom. Once inside the master bedroom, the deputy discovered a clandestine lab inside the closet that had malfunctioned and was emitting chemicals. View full article »

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — In October 2011, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched in reference to a theft that occurred on No Name Road in DeQuincy.

When deputies spoke with the victim, he advised while checking on his hunting lease property, he discovered his 4×8 deer stand with tower and Moultrie game camera, valued at over $1,800, was missing. View full article »

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On November 9, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding Shane A. Reed, 21, Sulphur, having inappropriate sexual contact with a 13 year old girl.

When questioned by detectives Reed confirmed the allegations. He was arrested and booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile; and sexual battery. View full article »

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On September 13 at approximately 10:00 a.m., Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) Detective Sgt. Jeff Cole conducted a stop on an SUV near mile marker 30 traveling east on I-10 for a traffic violation.

During the traffic stop, Sgt. Cole allowed his K-9 “Basco” to conduct a free air sniff of the air around the SUV. After Basco alerted to the odor of narcotics, Sgt. Cole conducted a search of and recovered a box in the cargo area containing approximately 4.5 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated street value of $10,000. View full article »
