The social media site reportedly wants to use drones to bring Internet connection to the two thirds of the world that still lack connectivity, starting with parts of Africa. The initiative is part of the internet.org project, which Facebook backs.

Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus — and dad of twerking and tongue-wagging Miley Cyrus — has released a rap version of his 1992 hit Achy Breaky Heart.

Achy Breaky 2 features a rapper named Buck 22, whose Twitter page says, “The new revolution of Country Music mixed with Hip-Hop. Join the movement.”

Big Dog is capable of many things of interest to its new owners at Google. What remains to be seen is whether the quadruped robot’s ability to pick up a breeze block and hurl it across a warehouse with impressive dexterity and speed is among them.

The computer search giant has completed the purchase of Boston Dynamics, the maker of a cutting-edge menagerie of walking and crawling robots including Big Dog, which counts America’s Department of Defense (DoD) among its major sources of income.

Three college friends of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were arrested and accused Wednesday of removing a backpack containing hollowed-out fireworks from Tsarnaev’s dorm room three days after the attack to keep him from getting into trouble.

In court papers, the FBI said one of them threw the backpack in the garbage – it was later found in a landfill by law enforcement officers – after the young men concluded from news reports that Tsarnaev was one of the bombers.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — The Lake Charles Police Department is investigating a theft that occurred at a local store on December 1, 2012 at 6:15 p.m. The two black female suspects can be seen in this video entering the store. They went to the liquor aisle and placed several bottles of alcohol in their purses. The suspects then fled the store after being confronted by management.

We are asking for assistance in identifying the suspects seen in this video.

I am guilty of Drive-Thru Christmas Caroling! Yes! Back in the day when I worked at B104, I was part of the morning show pranks. Basically, I drove in with the station van and started singing then first part of a carol and the person working the drive-thru had to finish the song live on the air! Made for a good show and fun time in the drive-thru! However, I have never tried rapping my order! Have you?

Siri is about to get one-upped by Google.

The company on Wednesday unveiled a long-rumored concept called “Project Glass,” which takes all the functionality of a smartphone and places it into a wearable device that resembles eyeglasses.

The see-through lens could display everything from text messages to maps to reminders. They may be capable of showing video chats, providing turn-by-turn directions, taking photos and recording notes — all through simple voice commands, according to a concept video produced by the company and released on YouTube.
