TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 10 at approximately 9:40 a.m., the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) Sgt. Derek Goss conducted a stop on a vehicle near mile marker 30 traveling eastbound on I-10 for a traffic violation.

When Sgt. Goss was talking with the driver of the car, Jessica Calloway, 29, Stone Mountain, Georgia, she began to act suspiciously. Sgt. Goss asked for permission to search the vehicle but Calloway refused. He then deployed his trained and certified drug detection K-9 “Basco” to conduct a free air sniff around the vehicle and Baso provided a positive response to the odor of controlled substance coming from the vehicle.

A search was conducted and approximately 112 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated street value of $313,000, was recovered in the trunk of the vehicle.

Calloway was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with possession of CDS I (marijuana) with intent to distribute.

Judge Ron Ware set her bond at $60,000.
