TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On September 13, at approximately 4:00 a.m., a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s deputy conducted a stop on a car driven by John W. Butler, 33, 1102 Summit St., Lake Charles, near the intersection of Highway 14 and Prien Lake Road in Lake Charles for driving without headlights. The deputy also discovered Butler was driving while under suspension for a prior DWI 2nd conviction.

Butler performed poorly on a standard field sobriety test, and refused to submit to a breath intoxilyzer test. He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. While being booked Butler was found to be in possession of a white pharmaceutical pill for which he did not have a prescription.

Butler was charged with DWI 3rd; operating a vehicle while under suspension; no headlights; possession of CDS III; and activities regarding contraband in penal institutions. He was released on an $11,700 bond set by Judge Sharon Wilson and cannot operate a vehicle without a valid driver’s license or interlock device.

CPSO Deputy Adam Wentzel was the arresting deputy on this case.
