TOTALLY HITS RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Saturday, August 9 around midnight the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a kidnapping. Detectives learned Joseph R. Ward, 29, 1416 Clover Dr., Lake Charles, took an ex-acquaintance against her will in her car.

He battered her with his fists and threatened to kill her numerous times. Ward eventually drove the victim to her house where he continued to hold her against her will overnight. While at the residence, he held a knife to her throat. Ward released the victim the next day but would not return her cell phone.

The victim had an active restraining order against Ward at the time of the incident. A warrant was issued for Ward and he was taken into custody on August 10. He was charged with 2nd degree kidnapping; aggravated assault; simple battery; theft; and violation of protective order.

Judge Davis set bond at $357,000.
