ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Holbrook Park in Sulphur around 5:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22 in reference to a possible drowning.
The investigation revealed Kyle A. Simpson, 20, of Lake Charles was at the park fishing with family members. According to witnesses, Simpson swam to a rope swing on the other side of the river but once he reached the swing he went under the water and did not resurface. Family members attempted to find him but were unsuccessful.
The CPSO Marine Division came out and was able to locate Simpson’s body which was underwater close to the rope swing.
