ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On March 11, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a Sulphur gas station regarding two men sleeping inside a car parked at the gas pumps.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the driver of the car, later identified as Alan M. Johnson, 22, 2631 Main Street, and passenger Gerell K. Coco, 23, 10041 Nehru Avenue, both of Baton Rouge, and detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the car.

After receiving consent from Johnson, deputies conducted a search of the car and recovered a trash bag containing marijuana, a large amount of cash, and a bag containing over 100 multicolored pills, later discovered to be Ecstasy.

Johnson and Coco were arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and both charged with possession of CDS I (marijuana) with intent to distribute; and possession of CDS I (Ecstasy) with intent to distribute.

Their bonds are still pending.

CPSO Cpl. Jarrod Durflinger and Deputy David Webster were the arresting deputies in this case.
