ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 19, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives received a complaint from a local casino regarding a housekeeping employee stealing from guests’ hotel rooms.

The investigation revealed between February 14 – 18, Mary S. Pierre, 44, 3619 Texas Street, Apt. # G169, Lake Charles, stole various items including cash, jewelry and electronic items, from guests while cleaning their hotel rooms.

During a search of her residence, detectives recovered an electronic tablet and perfume reported stolen and also recovered several other electronic items which are suspected to be stolen.

Pierre was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with theft over $1,500; theft $500 – $1,500; 2 counts of theft under $500; and illegal possession of stolen property.

Judge Michael Canaday set her bond at $46,000.

CPSO Detective James Leubner is the lead investigator on this case.

The investigation will continue with additional charges possible.
