ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 12, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a stop on a car at the intersection of N. Simmons and Medora Street in Lake Charles for a traffic violation.

During the investigation deputies spoke with passenger, Travis L. Joseph, 33, 8326 Church Street, Vacherie, LA, and discovered Joseph, a registered sex offender from St. James Parish who was convicted of indecent behavior with a juvenile in March 1999, had been living and working in Calcasieu Parish for the past month without notifying the proper authorities within three days, as required by law for all registered sex offenders.

Deputies also discovered he did not possess any form of identification, which is required by law for all registered sex offenders.

Joseph was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with failure to register as a sex offender; and failure to comply with sex offender identification requirements.

Judge David Ritchie set his bond at $110,000.

CPSO Deputy Roland Jones was the arresting deputy on this case.
