ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Thursday, November 14, 2014 at approximately 6:00 pm, officers of the Lake Charles Police Department responded to a call of an Armed Robbery at “Nero’s Barber Shop” located at 2509 Poe Street.

Upon the officers arrival, they were advised that two black males had entered the barber shop and pointing hand guns at the three persons inside the business. The suspects then ordered all three victims to empty their pockets. After obtaining an undetermined amount of cash the suspect’s fled the building. As they did so they fired several rounds into the barber shop. No one was struck and no injuries were reported.

During the investigation members of the Lake Charles Police Detective division were able to determine the identity of one of the suspects. He was identified as Kevin Jaquelle Hill (aka: Butter). Officers located Hill at a residence located in the 2000 block of Knapp Street where he was placed under arrest for Armed Robbery, Armed Robbery with a firearm and Illegal Use of Dangerous Instrumentalities (Discharging a Firearm). Officers searched Hill’s residence and recovered several firearms.

Hill’s bond was set at $80,000.00 by 14th Judicial District Judge Michael Canada.

Responding Officers Preston Ross, Matthew Brunett, Chad Booth and Sgt. Todd Chadick handled the initial investigation as Sgt. Lecia McCullough, Detective Kirt Farquhar and Jeffery Atkinson handled the follow up investigation.
