ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On November 7th, 2013 at 8:55 pm, Lake Charles Police Corporal Kyle Young was dispatched to 2224 See Street, later found to be abandoned, in reference to an Armed Robbery.

Upon arrival Cpl Young made contact with victim who advised they were delivering a pizza for a local business to order to complete a phone-in order. When the victim arrived at this address they were approached by a black male suspect who pulled a firearm & robbed the victim at gunpoint. The armed suspect was accompanied by another black male suspect during this incident.

The victim fled the scene and contacted Lake Charles Police Department to report the incident & provide descriptions of the two suspects. Responding Officers, Corporal David Bray and Officer Ryan Gaspard observed a suspect, later identified as Freddie Lee Bryant, matching the physical description at the intersection of North Simmons & Hagan Street.

Officers attempted to stop this suspect but he fled on foot and Officers engaged in a foot pursuit for about a half of block. They were able to apprehend the suspect in an open field with the assistance of Corporal Young.

Officers then located the second suspect, later identified as John Baker, at the corner of Katherine Street and North Simmons Street. Both suspects were positively identified by the victim as the persons who robbed them & both were arrested & confined at the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. Detective Kirk Farquhar & Jeffrey Atkinson were called in to conduct follow up investigation into this matter.

Freddie Lee Bryant, 22 year old black male, from Lake Charles, La.
Charges:
Armed Robbery, bond $25,000.00.
Armed Robbery with a Firearm, bond $25,000.00.
Total bond: $50,000.00

John Henry Baker II, 41 year old black male, from Lake Charles, La.
Charges:
Armed Robbery, bond $25,000.00.
Armed Robbery with a Firearm, bond $25,000.00.
Total bond: $50,000.00
