ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On April 9, at approximately 9:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a business on Derek Drive in Lake Charles regarding a purse snatching.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the elderly victim who advised a woman, later identified as Kelli R. LeBlanc, 20, 1500 N. Adams Street, Ragley, befriended her in the store and when the victim was distracted, LeBlanc stole the victim’s purse from her shopping cart and fled the store.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted an extensive search of the area but was unable to locate LeBlanc.

On April 10, detectives re-arrested LeBlanc and charged her with purse snatching.

Judge Clayton Davis set her bond at $15,000.

The investigation is continuing with additional charges expected.
