ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On April 4, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the Wal-Mart Supercenter located on Highway 14 in Lake Charles, in reference to a theft.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a Wal-Mart security team member who advised two men, later identified as Andrew D. Anderson, 24, and David J. Sonnier, 23, both of 2960 Lake Street, Apt. # 304, Lake Charles, were observed concealing several items including grocery items, a DVD player, and a computer monitor, valued at over $1,200, and attempting to leave the store.

During further investigation, detectives conducted a search of Anderson and Sonnier’s apartment and recovered several items that were previously stolen from the Wal-Mart Supercenter including a computer tower, a video projector, and a DJ Mix Board, valued at over $1,000. All stolen items were recovered by detectives and returned to the store.

Anderson and Sonnier were both arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correction Center and charged with theft over $500. Sonnier is also charged with illegal possession of stolen things. Judge Wilford Carter set Anderson’s bond at $1,500; and set Sonnier’s at $2,500.

CPSO Deputy Nathan McKee is the arresting deputy and CPSO Detective Scott Helms is the lead investigator on this case.
