ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On April 2, at approximately 6:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a mobile home in Lake Charles in reference to a domestic battery.

Upon arrival, deputies were advised Steven W. Sturlese, 20, 2500 Smith Road, Lot # 63, Lake Charles, ex-boyfriend of the victim, entered the victim’s home and demanded money. When the victim refused, Sturlese grabbed her by the hair and pulled her into the bedroom where he began striking her causing her head to go through the wall and also put a knife to her throat.

After stealing an undisclosed amount of money, Sturlese fled in the victim’s vehicle before deputies arrived.

Sturlese returned to the victim’s residence approximately 1 hour later and was arrested without incident. He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with aggravated battery; armed robbery; aggravated assault; simple criminal damage to property; and 2 counts of domestic abuse battery.

Judge Wilford Carter set his bond at $25,000.

CPSO Deputy Wesley Jones was the arresting deputy in this case.
