It’s that time of year again folks! time to party hard for Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras already next week! if you are looking for the fun in Lake Charles, you know where to be! Luna Live in the newly “reinvented” downtown Lake Charles will host Fishbone, one of America’s most eclectic and exciting bands, on Monday, Feb. 11, during the entertainment venues Lundi Gras party the day before Mardi Gras.
For 25 years, Fishbone’s members have traveled around the country performing their own style of music and developed a large following of music fans. They gained notoriety performing with bands like the Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Roots, and George Clinton. Fishbone is regarded as an alternative rock band with their style melding ska, punk rock, hard rock and soul into high energy shows.
When asked about Fishbone, Red Hot Chili Peppers member Flea said, “an important musical institution” and No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani remarked “the band that gave us inspiration to be a band.”
Lundi Gras, also known as Shrove Monday, is recognized along the Gulf Coast and is part of a tradition that originated in the 1800s. Festivities lead up to the region’s Mardi Gras celebration on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
Luna Live’s Lundi Gras music lineup includes: Lingus, Scorceses and Andy Brasco. The event will start at 6 p.m. at 710 Ryan St. Tickets are $15.
