ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — Between December 3 and December 7, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received two separate complaints from elderly women regarding several items that had been stolen from their homes.

After speaking with both elderly victims, deputies discovered over $7,000 worth of jewelry and electronics were stolen from one of the victims and several pieces of jewelry, valued at over $700, were stolen from the other victim. Both victims advised deputies that Jill K. Kershaw, 33, 8246 Frontage Road, Iowa, was recently hired to clean their homes.

When questioned by detectives, Kershaw confirmed she stole the jewelry and electronics while cleaning both victims’ homes and then sold them to a local business and pawn shop for cash.

Kershaw was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2 counts of theft of the assets of an aged person.

Judge David Ritchie set her bond at $100,000.

One piece of the stolen jewelry has been recovered by detectives and returned to the victim.

CPSO Detective John Casarez is the lead investigator in this case.
