ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On November 12, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to 2509 Demarest Street in Lake Charles, in reference to a report of a suspicious odor emitting from a home.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with Jerry T. Anderson, 48, and Angela R. Bertrand, 35, residents of the home, and immediately detected a strong odor of chemicals coming from inside the home.
After obtaining a search warrant, CPSO Narcotics Detectives conducted a search and discovered an active meth lab, methamphetamines, and drug paraphernalia inside the home. Haz-Mat was called to dismantle and clean up the meth lab.
Anderson and Bertrand were arrested and booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and both charged with creation/operation of a clandestine lab; possession of CDS II (meth); and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Judge Wilford Carter their bonds at $10,000 each.
CPSO Sr. Cpl. John Coffman, Cpl. Bradley Guidry, and Deputies Phil Middleton and Timothy Lemalle were the arresting deputies.
