ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Thursday 10-04-2012 at approximately 4:43pm the Lake Charles Police Department responded to a call at 217 W. College Street, Mazen’s Continental Cuisine, in reference to vehicle crash.

Upon officer’s arrival, it was observed that a 1996 Lincoln Towncar had crashed into the rear of the building. The driver of the vehicle stated that the vehicle was unintentionally placed in drive. In the drivers haste to stop the vehicle, they inadvertently depressed the vehicle’s accelerator instead of the brake.

The vehicle then travelled forward through the south wall of the business and approximately 40 feet into the interior of the building before it stopped. There were no injuries reported, only damage to the property. No citations were issued at the scene. The crash was investigated by Cpl. William Loving of the Lake Charles Police Department.
