ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On August 25, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a Lake Charles home in reference to a theft.  Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who advised while attending a party the night before, her daughter had her Apple iPhone, worth over $500, stolen.

Through investigative measures, detectives were able to determine Lawrence R. Nash, 17, 401 N. Stockwell Avenue, had stolen the phone from the party and Cody B. Romero, 18, 314 S. Philbrick Avenue, Iowa, sold the stolen cell phone to a local store for cash.  When questioned by detectives, Nash and Romero confirmed the allegations.

The stolen cell phone was recovered by detectives and returned to the victim.

On September 28, Nash and Romero were arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correction Center and both charged with theft under $500; and illegal possession of stolen property.  Nash is also charged with theft over $500 and Romero is also charged with accessory after the fact to theft over $500.

Judge Kent Savoie set Nash’s bond at $5,500 and set Romero’s at $5,000.
