ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On September 13 around 9:30 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched in reference to a possible burglary in progress at a home on Tallow Road in Lake Charles.

The caller advised he observed a suspicious truck driven by a man, later identified as Gregory A. Jones, 54, 4257 5th Avenue, Apt. 111, Lake Charles, pull out from behind the home with numerous tools and equipment belonging to the homeowner in the back of the truck.

Following a brief pursuit, Jones was arrested without incident. Deputies recovered over $2,500 worth of stolen tools and equipment from the back of the truck, including a bearing press, chain saw, an air conditioning unit, and a transmission stand.

Jones was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with simple burglary; theft over $1,500; and simple criminal damage to property over $500.

Judge Ron Ware set his bond at $16,000.

All items stolen were recovered by deputies and returned to the victim.
