ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Tuesday, July 10, 2012, the Lake Charles Police Department Sex Offender Registration Division conducted an investigation concerning a subject who failed to update his Louisiana Sex Offender ID as required by state law. As a result of the investigation, Detective M. Nicosia arrested the following person.
At approximately 2:00 p.m., Detective Nicosia traveled to 1627 Bilbo Street and observed Michael Ray Lyons, W/M, DOB: 4-21-1962 50yoa, walking in the parking lot of 1629 Ryan street.
Once Detective Nicosia met with Michael Lyons, who was convicted of LARS 14:81.1- Pornography Involving Juveniles in 2007, which carries a mandatory 25 year registration with the Lake Charles Police Department, he verified that Lyons Sex Offender ID had expired 13 months prior on June 17, 2011.
Lyons was arrested for “Sex Offender ID Card must be Carried, Valid”. Lyon’s bond was set at $10,000.00 by Judge Michael Canaday.
