ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On Thursday, February 23rd, 2012, at approximately 1:16 PM, the Lake Charles Police Department responded to a report of an auto pedestrian, hit and run crash that occurred at Sowela Technical Community College.

During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that a female Sowela student had been attacked in a parking lot area by her ex-boyfriend and arrested suspect, Brian A. Woods Jr.

After the victim was able to flee from the suspect, the suspect chased after the victim in his vehicle and struck the victim with his vehicle.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and is reportedly in serious, but stable condition.

Mr. Woods fled the scene of this offense prior to the LCPD’s arrival at Sowela. Mr. Woods was arrested in Jennings by the Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Office within two hours of this offense. Mr. Woods has been charged with attempted kidnapping and attempted 2nd degree murder.

Judge Clayton Davis set Mr. Woods’ bond at $400,000.
