ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On December 13 around 10:00 p.m., a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a stop on a car driven by Anthony J. Spears, 31, Lake Charles, for a traffic violation.

During the stop the deputy discovered Spears had no driver’s license and the passenger, Rex Allison, Jr., 30, 623 3rd Street, Lake Charles, had outstanding warrants for his arrest.
While searching Allison for deputy safety, deputies discovered over $1,200 worth of counterfeit bills in his pants pocket. After receiving consent from Spears, the deputy conducted a search of the car, recovering 6 lortabs, an off-white rock like substance, discovered to be crack cocaine, and a clear bottle containing promethazine with codeine.
Spears and Allison were arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2 counts of possession of CDS II; and 1 count of possession of CDS III. Allison is also charged with monetary instrument abuse.
Spears was released on a $7,500 bond set by Judge Kent Savoie. Allison, who had active warrants for hit & run driving and careless operation, is being held without bond.
