ERIC SCOTT RADIO, LLC | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On October 6 around 3:00 p.m., a deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Motorist Assistance Program (M.A.P.) was dispatched to assist a stranded car near mile marker 33 traveling east on I-10. When the deputy arrived and spoke with the driver, Clayton D. McClelland, 32, Lake Charles, and the passenger, Nita L. Hanks, 32, Moss Bluff, they began to act suspiciously.

CPSO Cpl. Jeremy Nunez was dispatched to assist and after receiving permission from McClelland, he conducted a search of the car and discovered several chemicals inside the car that were consistent with creation or operation of a clandestine lab. Cpl. Nunez also recovered over 12 grams of meth.

Haz-Mat was called to dismantle and clean up the rolling meth lab.

McClelland and Hanks were arrested and booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with creation/operation of a clandestine lab; possession of CDS IV.
